Class 1A
1. Shiner
2. Bosqueville
3. Eula
4. Elkhart Slocum
5. Maud
6. Thorndale
7. Windthorst
8. Marfa
9. Alto
10. Iola
Comments: Shiner returns a lot of offense for a team that run ruled both opponents in the state tournament. Bosqueville has built a strong tradition while Eula and Slocum are solid. Thorndale and Windthorst both have depth while Marfa, Alto and Iola should all be stout.
Class 2A
1. Kirbyville
2. East Bernard
3. Coahoma
4. Danbury
5.. Big Sandy Harmony
6. Sadler S&S Consolidated
7. Poth
8. Hawley
9. Clyde
10. Harleton
Comments: East Bernard is very good but a really strong Kirbyville got re-alignment down into 2A and brings a load of talent. Coahoma and Danbury are regular visitors to the top ten while Harmony and S&S are returning lots of talent. Poth is another traditional power while Hawley, Clyde and Harleton are accustomed to long runs in post season play.
Class 3A
1. Huntington
2. Needville
3. Texarkana Liberty Eylau
4. Burkburnett
5. Andrews
6. La Vernia
7. Longview Spring Hill
8. Robinson
9. Celina
10. Levelland
Comments: Lots of talent and lots of very good teams but until Huntington gets taken down, they are on top. Needville has a well balanced team while TLE swings the bat and both Burkburnett and Andrews boast strong defenses. The next five are pick-em and any one could win it all.
Class 4A
1. Nederland
2. Waco Midway
3. Dripping Springs
4. Rockwall
5. Barbers Hill
6. Port Neches-Groves
7. Mesquite Poteet
8. Wolfforth Frenship
9. Frisco Wakeland
10. Rockwall Heath
Comments: Nederland is yikes good while Midway, Dripping Springs and new 4A Rockwall are all deep and long with solid staffs. Barbers Hill and PNG are very, very good while Poteet, Frenship, Wakefield and Heath will be 20 game winners.
Class 5A
1. Austin Bowie
2. Klein Oak
3. Tomball
4. Odessa
5. Brazoswood
6. Weatherford
7. Rowlett
8. Mesquite
9. Alvin
10. Pearland
Comments: Bowie is looking for a third straight trip to state behind Blaire Luna while both Klein Oak and Tomball are really, really good and Odessa is the class of West Texas. Brazoswood, Weatherford, Rowlett and Mesquite are good while defending champion Alvin was hit by graduation but returns enough talent to make another run and Pearland is solid.
