10U in 2012

With practice for the 2012 season starting soon, what teams does everyone consider to be the top teams in 10U in Texas?

Its not how you start, but how you finish... Anyways 10u has lots of good teams that never meet up because they either go ASA, USFA, VTD or some other sanction so the best team in Texas is never the one you think it is.

The same thing could be said of ALL age groups until maybe the Gold level teams. I was simply curious what some of the better teams are perceived to be. We play all over Texas in ASA, VTD, and USFA so we see a lot of the teams.

Kind of off topic but why play all those sanctions in 10u. Dont you have to pay registration/insurance for each? Seems silly for 9 y.o.s

If you buy ASA insurance, the only issue you have with the other santioning bodies is the resgistration...you are talking $35 - $50...no big deal.

At 10u there are so many bad teams. Once your team has beaten all of them you have to travel in order to play the best ones. All in all you have to be flexible.

Don't let the 10u's age fool you, there is some good softball played at the highest level.

That is what it is all about and yes guys this is coming from the guy that has traveled all over the country to play the best of the best. Teach your DD's to work hard and that everything doesn't come without putting in the work. We have all been where you are at, so enjoy the ride because it will have it's ups and downs. Make it fun for your DD or she will grow to love another sport and drop softball all together.

This is exactly why she plays TB, so she can learn the game and play against better competition. I stress to my DD that she has to work hard and keep a positive attitude if she wants to keep up. We all worry about "burnout" but as long as they're having fun they likely won't get burned out. Personally, I have more trouble with my DD getting her to take a break occasionally.
