Bomber Shootout in late march (New Braunfels, TX) draws 80-100 teams from 8U to 14U. Ronald McDonald tournament in Houston was this past weekend and is worth the drive.

Do you know which weekend the Bomber shootout will be in 2012? I hope its not the same weekend as last year because that is the same weekend as the Tournament at Hall of fame Stadium in OKC...Any info on that will be appreciated

Biggest, best and most fun tournaments from last 10 years of fastpitch.

My bias is toward the south because we live in Corpus - usually most of our players were in the Corpus, Portland as well as San Antonio area.

When I think of fun , lots of teams, well organized - well run, good places to stay and eat, to me this is Bomber Shootout in the spring and Bomber Schlitterbahn usually in August. I also think of any tournaments in the Pearland area - they have very reasonable hotels, etc. and lots of teams. I dont know if they still have it but Katy has the Katy Christmas Classic tournament usually the week or two before Christmas - a lot of fun and a lot of teams.

In the last several years, our Seguin friends opened the Huber Fields there and those are buillding up to be with the best, and Seguin has hotels and restaurants as well -the downside to Seguin is the lack of competition for hotels and so the price is 30-50 bucks higher per night than New Braunfels.

When you get to the serious showcase and recruiting arena, there are a lot of them around, but Ronald McDonald is the granddaddy - again this is for us - both my DDs got their D1 scholarships from attention they got at RMD. The girls are good - just like thousands of other girls but playing in the best places you can makes the difference.
