Last weekend my daughter played the Impact Gold in a Spring Klein tournament. This team is top notch again. They were by far the best team at this tournament. The sad thing is that they may not even have all of their players back from the playoffs.

The other top teams from the weekend were the Texas Storm Gold and the Texas Blaze Gold. These three teams played well most of the weekend. I am not sure of records, but they all looked a little better then the rest when I was watching.

Keep in mind that this was probably the first tournament for most of these teams since last year. Their were probably other solid teams at the park that I did not see.

That Texas Impact team was CRAZY GOOD!!!!

The Blaze team wasn't even their Gold team or Second team.......someone told me it was a mix of their 16u teams.....that's a program going in the right the direction if that was some of their 16u kids.

Saw Donnie's Kid......pretty salty 16u team.

Best Coach I saw.....I think it was the Impact Gold.......young lady, looked like a college player, great energy, positive......she was coaching third.

Saw three Storm teams........GOLD looked pretty good. The Newsome team had moments, but got lite up by the 16u Blaze team....they cam back, but came up short (I think, they didn't look happy), their 16u team looked good.....took care of the same Blaze team pretty well.....go figure.

Saw another Storm team.....not sure where they were from.....I don't think they're were from the same Houston Program....different logo.......they didn't look good at all........looked more like a 14u team if that

Shock team...........looked like a Sunday Night Men's league team. Every girl wore something different........they got destroyed by the Impact team.....who let that Shock team in???

Mystixx looked pretty good.......knock the crap out of the ball....good team speed

She struggled through the weekend, maybe 43 feet vs 40, maybe playing 14 during the high school season got her focus not where it should be. Or she was just off - happens. I know her practice sessions since the weekend have been pretty intense, I have some new bruises to prove it.
We will be facing pretty good competition from here on out - and I agree with what you said about Impact Gold and Durham Storm. Both Impact Gold college player coaches were class acts. We will be following LSU and Baylor to see both of them this next year.

Impact gold took care of business in Auburn, AL. ALL other Texas teams were denied! Congrats to the Tulsa Shootout, Gold Coast Huricanes, KC Peppers, Impact Gold, Atlanta Vipers and Georgia Elite.

Next weekend in Houston is going to be a tough one. Around 90 teams coming in for 6 berths. About 75 of these teams should be playing 16-U or 18-A, no chance to qualify.

Will ANY team from North Texas get in this year?

There will be a lot of college kids in uniform at the Houston tourney this weekend. Impact Gold, Glory Gold, TX Heat, TX Storm, Mustangs, LA United, Voodoo and Mystixx to name a few that will have college players suited up this weekend. Don't want to hit that losers bracket in Friday or you have NO chance of getting a berth.

Made the drive to Houston and battled the rain and heat on Friday (not that it cooled down for Saturday and Sunday) and watched some great softball. I am surprised by the order of finish and would have missed on 4 of the 6 that now have a berth. I guess that is why we play them. Anyone else surprised by the showing of teams? North Texas had one team get in, Travelers. All others were turned away. How about 3 non Texas teams coming in here and taking berths? Kudos to the following:

TX Eclipse
TX Travelers
TX Storm Demarini
LA United
GA Fire
GA Bullets

What happened to the top teams from the past several years:
Glory (Gold)
Houston Power
Sudden Impact

I know they had girls leave for college but have they not brought in new players?

Glory Gold dominated for so long that it seems like they would be able to rebuild easily.

I watched the Glory Gold play LA United on Sunday in a game that the winner would qualify. Glory played pretty well but a couple of things stood out from teams in years past. The offense seems to be stuck in PARK and the defense was kicking the ball around a bit. They have great pitching and should qualify but will have to hit and catch much better than this weekend.
