Shame On These Colleges

I would love to know the story on why these schools don't have women's softball. I know about Title IX, but really, how can USC not field a softball team? When you look at some of the schools on this list, it's just ridiculous.

Rice (Conference USA)
Tulane (Conference USA)
Texas Christian University (Mountain West)
Air Force (Mountain West)
Wyoming (Moutain West, no Div. I program in the state)
Navy (Patriot League)

I know I've left some big time schools off this list, but we need to start pressing these schools to implement women's softball. This is almost 350 opportunities for our DDs to play at the Div. I level in some of the top conferences in the country.

USC is in the ghetto and doesn't have any land for a field. They would have to take away one of their 3 football facilities

I hear this all the time, but do they really need the four tennis courts behind the baseball field? Looks to me like they would only lose two. The measly amount of parking at the corner of West Jefferson and South Vermont ain't helping anybody. There also is a vacant lot behind the swimming complex that doesn't have anything on it. If they really wanted to build a softball stadium, there is plenty of room on either of these two locations.

Wonder how many universities out there with softball teams don't field men's baseball? Some of these schools on this list are among the nation's top baseball programs. You have admit it's just stupid that USC, TCU, Rice, Wake Forest, and Miami (Fla.), don't offer softball. Certainly not a lack of talent in the region. I would think USC for one would become a NCAA National Championship contender overnight.
