Sparker vs. Fireworks

Just curious...DD's team signed up for sparkler this year, we went to fireworks last year. Has anyone been to both? Is one better than the other? Just want to get the scoop.

Boulder Independence Tournament is the best. Google boulder indy softball and see the teams from the past years. Fireworks is second best. Both have been closed for years but allow a limited number of top teams in every year. Sparkler is a non invitational, free for all, with no exposure. It is a huge tournament with little or no organization. Fields are decent but umpires are the worst and just want to end the games because each age group has a 100 plus teams.

Now triple crown sports, the organization that runs the Sparkler has merged with Fireworks because the head of Fireworks either was a thief or totally disorganized. He kept the money of teams who did not get in for years unless they came to Colorado to sue him. And some did just that. Fireworks may be good, or it may fall the way of Sparkler.

I totally agree with the previous post. You probably can't get in the Boulder tournament, but stay away from the Sparkler. It only exists to make money for the sponsor. If they have the all-star game - it's not worth the extra $100 to get 2 inning in the field and 1 at bat.

Some of our players did the all star game at Sparkler several years ago and it was a complete joke. $75 for two to three innings of play in a nice stadium with no one but parents watching.

Has anyone found an allstar game that is worth the time. I notice Rising Stars have them in Florida and that is a legitimate tourney.

Boulder Independance tourney and Louisville Slugger are both ran by Daniel Burns. Both extremely organized and with lots of college participation. If your in, your in. If your not, it is really tough to get into either of these tournaments. If your not already in, you better be a top team in your area in order to get in. If your in and stink it up or act foolish, chances are great that you wont be invited back.
