Atrocious Pitch Calling in College

by Lone Staarr » Mon Apr 30, 2018 3:37 pm

Maybe not atrocious but pretty questionable.

Justin the UT vs OU game.

Why would you even pitch to OU's hr leader late in the game?

Curve ball inside to Romero? Resulting in a homerun?

So many mistakes are made with the curveball that goes flat in critical counts.

Why do these coaches even take stats? Some of these pitch callers are so predictable.

Righty batter
Righty pitcher?
How do you know the pitch called was a curve?
sounds a little odd to spin the ball into the strength of the batter swing?!
where did the catcher set up?

Hinky, it’s apparent you know never throw a curve inside to a lefty from a right handed pitcher. Especially a curve low and inside. That’s their sweet spot.

The pitch to Romero was the opposite lefty to the righty Romero. Well the catcher set up inside. It looked like the ball was curving in and it didn’t enough and Romero hit it out. I wasn’t paying attention to the signs. Maybe it was suppose to be a backdoor screwball?

Correct me if I’m wrong. Just what I think I saw.

chalk it up to being an error either in judgement on the pitch calling, or the pitcher throwing a meatball. ;) ha

Nice job trying to pitch inside to Lorenz!

Love the pitch calling at the highest level.
