I agree with REALLY. we played in ASA Nationals last spring and the top pitchers were throwing low 50's. they could have thrown 54, it doesent matter that late in the year, the hitters will cath up and teams that have fast runners, and can play small ball will not be as affected. The speed will eat the hitters up untill May or so but after that they have to keep the hitter off ballance and move the ball. The best 99 pitcher (playing 10u) in my oppinion is on the Cross Fire she has great controll and great velocity. She has been in 10u for 3 years now. On our team we have a 99 that pitches for us in 12u and throws auround 50 now with a 12" ball and from 40', she threw 50-52 in nationals. she would dominate in 10u but chose to play up. she also plays SS and 1st and hits in the 3-4 hole. I am saying some of the better 99's may not be in the 10u division right now but will be there when they get to highschool. NO IT IS NOT MY DAUGHTER. Although I am proud to coach her.
There was a pitcher last year from DFW on the RIP that threw gas I clocked her at 54 several times but they did not do so well at nationals. you need a complete team to go deep in ASA. Don't get me wrong, great pitching will take you a long way, but you can't win it all with out great pitching, great D and hitting.

last summer threw in the low 50's in late spring through mid summer The fastest I caught on my gun was 53mph (TPS #81). If anyone has a 99 throwing 52 plus
now they need to start putting together the recruiting video....

I'm just saying....
