I know there will be plenty of fine 97 teams there, but I have seen Arkansas Heat play and they are a very very good team. They are from north east Arkansas and have played together for fome time.
This is shaping up to be one very good tourney. It's amazing how many teams are signed up already from such a wide area. Looks like TX, OK, MS, AR, GA are already represented to go play in the "Boondocks". Haven't seen many 12u & 14u tournys in DFW have so many good teams from so many places. Hey Joe what do ya think about that?

Yes this is a very impressive list, and we (Gametime 97 OKC) would love to play a tournament of this caliber. However, names on a list and actually coming are 2 different things. I know for us it is a 6 hour trip to longview on a regular weekend. Which means that depending on how things go we could potentially not get home until the wee small hours of the morning on a school night. So we would definatley like to see some of these coaches or representatives of these teams confirm that they are really coming.
Getting home late to play a tournament of this caliber is definately not a problem. Getting home late to play a tournament that has 1/3 of the teams advertised and none of the teams like GA Impact, ARk Heat, Alabama Elite or South Texas teams that you dont get a chance to play too often is.
I will tell you that if these teams on this list Really show, then we are definately in. Otherwise, we will probably pass.

Lethal Weapon 25,

You guys have a great team. Fusion '98(Team Mizuno) played you twice at Triple Crown OK this year. Best '97 pitching staff we have faced. They were lights out!

I don't think you have to worry about the teams coming to play in a tournament of this caliber. I'm sure the homework has been done and the teams that have been invited are under committment.

Glad you guys are coming. I'm sure other teams will be sitting in the stands watching all of these great matchups, watching some great softball!!!

Noturdaddy...

I'm glad you asked!

Let's see...Jan, Feb, March, April, May...1,2,3,4,5...uhmmmm....that makes 5, count 'em...5 months. I know you've gotta be smoking the rookie see-gar, but there's a difference between signing up and showing up. ...and on the 14's the TD's done a good job writing in the teams vs. the teams signing up on their own...an old tactic on VTD to promote interest. You're right on one point though...DFW has NEVER hosted any big time tourneys....

But don't get me wrong numbnutnacho, I wish the Anderson's all the success in the world, and only offered my unsolicited advice so that even those who reside in the boondocks can enjoy the fruits of their labor...and a little competitive softball. I've enjoyed many USSSA State tournaments in the 'View... back in the day. The Motel 6 we stayed in was lovely and the folks there were nice enough even though they were missing a few teeth....and were well on their way developing nice sheds for their tools....in their overalls. Oh and btw...they ran a decent tourney.

Great list of teams in 14U. Who is this team Hot Rage 97 from Waco and how did they get in this tournament. Have not seen a team from Waco worth traveling to play in 14U since Fireballs and Young Legends.

Not sure how they got on there. Great bunch of people. Good kids and dedicated families. Your suspicions are correct though. They simply are out of their league here.

Thanks we do have a great group. We are dedicated - and correct me if I'm wrong but the point in playing is not to always win but to face great competition, learn from it & therefore become a stronger team. Our goal is to face great teams every weekend - that's how you become the best. That's how you grow as a player and a team.

Don't think anyone will argue that this is great for your team.

This tournament does look to be a very good one. I can not speak for most teams but If AR Heat has told the TD they will come then they will be there. They are a top notch team for sure. I am with AR Wildfire and we am hoping that they can get all the top teams possible in all the groups but for sure in the 98's. We would love to see the best competition possible every weekend whether we win a tournament or not. We hope to see the best competition possible that weekend.

Hey guys new to this plz help me out. As i read this (because of the number of hits) I see Lethal Wepon say that OK moved to 43' but if a Georgia Impact team comes they will be there? Is this gonna be at 40 or 43' and who is this ga team? Is this the gametime team the won that USFA tournament in panama city in the summer?
