Someone told me that there is a couple girls on the Aledo Cats that could be pretty good if they had better coaching, not my words but a friend of my on Elite told me that. Maybe you can help pass the word on to those kids.

Keller was interesting. Schedule was a challenge. Some long waits for some teams. Some late officials effected couple games. A lot of older pickups changed some team makeups and some missing older players affected team makeups. Some of the teams are still not set. Some very close games and tie games that were decided by number of batters, very wierd. Think some teams on the edge of taking a big step forward after the high school season ends and the 16u shuffle takes place. End of month in Southlake will show some things. Hope weather cooperates. How did things in Garland turn out?

Southlake this weekend: First of all, Brad Bryson's Batbuster team did a great job of hosting and working the tournament, so thanks to those folks for their hard work. As expected, Pool B was a very competitive pool, with the 1st and 3rd place trophy.

Pool A:
Kruzers-1st (undefeated)
D-Bat (Savell) 2nd (one loss)

Pool B:
D-Bat (Blacksox)-1st (undefeated)
Texas Bombers-2nd (one loss)

Pool C:
Texas Threat-1st (undefeated)
Southern Edge-2nd (one loss)

Bracket:
Kruzers beat Southern Edge pretty handily, but we were playing, so I didn't get the score.
D-Bat (Blacksox) beat D-Bat (Savell) 4-2
Bombers beat Threat
Bombers beat D-Bat (Blacksox)
Bombers beat Kruzers in the championship.

Congrats to all of the trophy winners! You earned your prize on the dirt!

I must admit I was surprised when I saw the results this morning from this weekend. Looks like OK Finish and the Batbusters did very well, and those cats definitely took it on the chin in pool A. Synergy seemed to be the odd team in this Pool. I was equally surprised to see Elite-Stidd drop down to 3rd in Pool B. I had them as the favorite, along with TPS 95 in the hunt somewhere. Must have been some hoo-doo-voo-doo in the air, or the big Cowtown JV tourney in Fort Worth had something to do with it. I don't know, can't say for sure.
In Seguin, the Phantomz and Elite did not finish in the top 5, and I would suspect most had those 2 as tops, if not 1 and 2 respectfully! A weird finish to the weekend, indeed.

So what about Garland?

Agree with Bill. The Batbusters did a great job with the tournament.

Nice weather for the weekend with lots of good softball.

Pool B was rough as everyone expected. Multiple low scoring games won by one run as would be expected by the quality of teams in the pool (Roughriders, Blaze, Bombers, Black Sox). Easily could have taken 4 teams from this pool and they could have been in the hunt.

Congrats to the Bombers who played well and gutted it up. Down at times in games they came back with timely hits and some great D. Pitching was steady and consistent all weekend.

Congrats to the Kruzers who played well this weekend. Argue all you want about the pool being "lighter", it takes a lot to go through 6 games in seeded pools and be focused enough to only give up one run.

Quality tournament all the way around. Agree with Bill on this one as well - the best team earned it Sunday on the dirt.

So what about Garland?

Watched a little of Garland. Don't know any scores. They don't really matter because they were friendlies. Some teams would be ahead and then put in another pitcher. I will say this. Fusion Routon looked tougher than ever. From all of the yelling it looked like they beat 97 glory like a drum. I think they had two innings where they scored 5 runs which were the max. I think someone said Routon tied the Diamonds 2-2. Diamonds looked a lot stronger than I have seen in the past. At least two different hitters spanked it over the fence. Glory Adkins seemed to be a step behind the other teams there. Texas Elite was hot and cold. Beaten badly by 97 Glory. Dbat looked strong. Who am I forgetting?

Synergy was affected by hs ball with two gone, missed the bats. lost 1-1 game on tiebreaker lost 1-0 lost 3-2 lost 6-4 lost 10-8 lost lost 4-1 most games decided by errors and hitting was sporadic typical for this time of year played three games on large field with no temp fences and did not capitalize like the competition did anything pass the fielder was auto home run
Pool and bracket out today for NRH any ideas?

Dbat, Texas Elite, Glory Poole all in the same pool very tough. The nod goes to Dbat.

What happened to the ladycats at Keller? High school ball? This messes up my picks for pool A.

Austin Stars, Attitude 95, Ragdolls. If Ladycats have a good reason for last week then they will be in the top 3.

Pool B By far the strongest.
