Joe, My facts come from reading this thread.

I should have specified that I did not really want a reply from you.

Your posts are childish.

Childish.... in that my child gets to play this weekend?

Sorry Cheriff, you don't get to pick and choose when you flap your jaw on HB....especially when foot is inserted into mouth.

But in a gesture of goodwill and charity I'll refrain from further comment....so you can go on to explain how VTD's sanctioning of a tournament this weekend is a negative.

Hmmmmm?

Why is it that because ASA did NOT sanction this tournament it is ASA's fault. There is a process to get a tournament sanctioned and I would bet they were not followed.
You people complaining would be the first ones to be on here raising h@# if something went wrong with this tournament. I will not speculate as to what could go wrong.

My point is I am sure you (Joe) do not know Larry from a hill of beans and this is just your opportunity to bash people. Obviously there is some bad blood between Larry and Glen but like I said before there are two sides to every story. Just because ASA and its commishioners don't get on and bash you back doesn't mean you are telling the whole story.
I am sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Larry you were able to get the tournament through VTD so really why get on here and attack someone personally. Let VTD prove themselves this Spring without the name calling. Especially since you know they will NOT respond.

I am just curious out of all of the people who get on this board and complain about NTX ASA, how many have actually tried to get involved with ASA and change things from the inside.

22,

Well let's see....

They've sanctioned a few hundred other tournaments in FW for 2009. Why not this one? ASA terminated their association with VTD at the end of October with nothing in place as a substitute. Nov and Dec tournaments were placed and approved on VTD back in January by ASA and then they(ASA) abandon the process??? Teams, associations, TDs have been scrambling to get travel permits, info on updates, info on the future...and still no communication from ASA. Nothing, nada from ASA!!!

Bashing someone for unnecessairly keeping DD off the field this weekend? I'm all in!

I'll spare you the other details from the last decade or two...

Frustrating isn't it?

SBALLdad - When you were called by this officer, what was the explanation that you were given for the non-sanctioning of the tournament? I naturally assume you received a call since you are stating #4 above.

And what is the reason ASA separated from VTD?

larry111 wrote:It is not posted on the VTD right now because Glenn Gotcher and Brenda Grubbs went in and yanked the sanctioning Friday afternoon. I am the tournament director. It has been up listed on the board for almost a month now as an approved ASA sanctioned event. sanctioning. He has called the teams that are signed up for this tournament today and told them that I will not refund their money if the tournament is canceled. He also said that this tournament was not an ASA sanctioned event, and that all travel permits would be denied. He also contacted the team's associations and told them that the tournament was not ASA sanctioned, and they would not be covered under the insurance if they went and played. He also instructed John Austin not to approve any travel permits. Glenn Gotcher is a thorn in the side of teams wanting to participate in softball in the Ft Worth metro area. Glenn uses his power as an ASA JO to try to push people out of softball that he does not like or agree with.

Glad you asked....

#1 They never called. They just pulled the tournament. No explanation, nothing, nada...

#2 Good question
