Didn't say the pitcher was the whole team, but a big part of their potential. They were struggling to field a team as far as I understood, so I just asked what they picked up to replace what they lost. (Not just the pitcher)
Well, since softball junkie seems so concerned about our team, I’ll see if I can answer some questions for her.
Yes, we did lose a pitcher from last year. She was a very good pitcher and was an asset to our team. Things don’t always work out and her parents decided they wanted to look at other options. She is now with High Voltage. Gene is a good coach and always puts together a solid team. We also lost a catcher and our ss/2nd baseman. Our catcher decided to play soccer and our ss/2nd baseman decided to play closer to home. She’s now with 98 Texas Sting.
We picked up 4 good players, 2 pitchers, a catcher and a very strong hitter (the 98 that Really was talking about).
As far as the tourneys we played in. We might not have played in the BIG tourneys that you are talking about or the tourneys that you played in but we did play in some good tourneys. We played in Ronald McDonald, Katy Classic, Bomber, and USFA ‘A’ State to name a few. We placed 3rd in the State tourney and was the last 97 left. We played in the tourneys that worked for our parents and that’s what matters to us.
We appreciate being mentioned with some of the better teams. I think we have a great group of girls with 4 of them being 98’s. We don’t claim to be the best like some of the people on here. As one of the coaches in this area once told me; “we’re just trying to compete”.
Sorry that this was so long but I wanted to make sure I answered all of softball junkie’s questions.
