Cash, I know that you didn't ask me to, but I've got your back here. I have seen your daughter pitch, and I have seen your team in action. Your statement about her humility and character are completely on the mark, as are your statements about her speed and dominance. Having only seen her once, my assumption is that, like any 10-11 year old kid, she sometimes acts her age and has a miserable game, but she is absolutely the hardest thrower I have seen since we have been in this age group. As far as I know from my brief meeting of you and your team, you and they are a class act. Heybucket is a great idea, but it is also the hangout for many idiots who cannot stand the fact that the rest of us have a life outside of softball and that we have kids whom we still allow to be kids playing a game that they love, rather than for the purpose of fulfilling our unfulfilled hopes and dreams. Just keep on doing what you're doing and teaching your girls the game the way you have, and your success will bring out many more "haters." I look forward to getting another chance to play you guys. Keep up the good work!

Why is it hard to believe that a 10 year old can do what these people are reporting she can do? What will change 5 years from now that makes their claimes innaccurate today? She either can or can not throw that hard. If you haven't seen her.... i'd just leave it alone.... only makes you look foolish. IMO

hhhmmm...I wish someone was around for me about 4-5 years ago to calm me down regarding our 10 yr olds....just trying to give some perspective, but I'm not sure if it is worth the effort...

First of all, if you last a few years, your thin skin will get thicker...maybe.
Not sure about yours, because it's pretty thin now.

You might realize there are a ton of talented kids playing softball, and ALOT of great hitters.
You might realize speed is nice, but if you don't compliment it with movement, change of speed, and location, it won't mean much. Except to you in practice when you are seeing those awesome readings on your radar gun.

Here's what has changed in my perspective:
10u-having success in all stars, thinking my kid is the next olympic hero.
12U fresh out of rec, having pretty good success in our first venture into travel.
But also seeing alot of other "next olympic heroes"... calming down a bit, not screaming at the umps and opponents as much..
14U calming down even more, realizing that a pitcher's change up and location can shut teams down much better than just blazing speed...
16U-looking back on our time in 10U and realizing my perspective has really changed in the last 5 years...
I look around now at my kid's games, and I see alot of other parents and family much more relaxed, reading the paper on the sidelines during games, etc. Starting from 10U where we were hanging on every pitch like it's life or death, to just sitting back and watching our kids.

You can take the advice...or not...I'm thinking you probably won't.
That's fine, and I hope you will figure it out over time, like many have...

Oh, and you are wasting your energy trying to argue with Skarp...Skarp is pretty much playing with his food in this post...I'm just sayin'...

I'll get to see this 10U pitching phenom this weekend and if she shuts down the talented teams that will be in the field then we might have something. We will wait and see.

what happened to the phenom pitcher that had to toe the rubber .did she go undefeated with 4 no hitters(LOL) .how did the best team from DFW do in KILGORE .

Got to see a bunch of good games, very good 10U pitching in Kilgore. The pitcher refered to in this thread did throw hard, she is good, just lacking a good defense/offense behind her. Sneaky Cleats had a good pitcher and Team Mizuno had a pitcher throwing really well too.

very good pitching for 10u i thought-- and just coincidence, misfortune, or whatever i've had daughters in 10u for 6 years.

force had a girl throwing better than what i remembered from them, sneaky cleats girl saturday night was awesome with a rise and something she was getting down and away. girl from anderson was good. our girls threw well. it was definitely worth the trip to go face em all.

What to say, what to say about this weekend in Kilgore?? The saturday night game With us and Sneaky Cleats=would have actually paid $ to go and watch one like that!! Great pitching duel!! Had another great battle with them in 3rd place game, their pitcher is really good, no matter how tired you may think she may be, she never stops coming at you, can put the ball where she wants to in the zone, over and over again!!

Sneaky Cleats are an awesome team and they have one of the nicest, most humbling Coaches! Glad to finally meet them,look forward to more battles with them on May 1st....

Anderson Express pitcher BOO? Young lady throws that ball hard thats a fact....Nice young lady for sure,we saw her also watching the championship game in good spirits after a hard day of throwing....once that team gets their hitting down, watch out!!

Team to watch out for= Anderson Express Y2K!! They will be a really good team here in pretty short order!! Great coaches too,really classy guys!!

Oklahoma Force= we owe them a loss,thats for sure!! That team can flat out hit the ball. They came back to beat us in the championship game 6-5,off of solid hitting!! You can't make mistakes against them, the parents and coaches on that team..get really into the game,make it very intense....but,its all for show...talked to a bunch of em at the store after the championship game, super nice people!! look forward to them coming back down in May as well.

we had a great time out there n kilgore this weekend,and my own DD learned a ton about really being a pitcher this weekend!! The tournament was run very well!! Met a lot of good people this weekend!! There needs to be more like that, thats the only way to get better!!

Time to heal up now,and get back on the train later this week!!

Three Monkeys, just like so many others on this thread, you spout you mouth without engaging your brain. First of all, we are not having an open tryout, that would be the D-Bat (Blacksox). Secondly, Cash coaches the Anderson Express team, so I would not be recruiting his DD anyway. And finally, since 99 D-Bat (Savell) is a local team, Henderson would be a bit of a stretch for me to be seeking players. I don't mind a comment at all, but at least engage the brain, do the research, and make it an educated comment.
