The TD was happy and all the teams I spoke with were happy because we played!...
No one has anything to moan and groan about!

Amen! and moving on! Anyone have something new to talk about?

There is another tournament in White Settlement this weekend. Of course lots of tryouts again as well I assume.

For someone who wasn't there and isn't involved you sure have a lot to say. You think it's preposterous yet you discuss it. Obviously you're not much of a watcher because errors can do a lot more than cause 1 or 2 runs. There were many errors in one inning that actually gave up 7 runs. The final score was 12-4. The first time they played HOT Rage the score was 5-3 (HOT Rage). The way I see it they both have a win. Maybe they should schedule a tie breaker. Of course that is if they are still a team. Regardless, I always find it amusing when adults come out and argue about absolutely nothing. Everyone needs to start remembering the girls and the game. Every girl there had something to offer this weekend, whether they were a donkey or not.

You're right, I do have lots to say. I'm an old timer with nothing better to do. I discuss lots of things I think are preposterous. What is this your first time on a message board? That's what we do here. I don't need to see a game to tell you that if you gave up 7 runs in one inning that you've got a lot of work to do. You're also right in that I wasn't much of a watcher this weekend. Why in the world would I go out to a tournament full of rec teams in the cold and rain? Fortunately for your girls it appears you have a coach that knows how to put the whining parents in check.

This Larry Weast the Tournament director and I just want to say that I appreciate all the teams that participated and I do not remember one head coach being mad. I do not remember one player being mad about getting to play. The coaches and the players were happy that they got to continue playing ball when there for about an an hour and a half it look like this tournament was over. Parents are parents. They get mad or they get glad. That is just the way it is. The coaches and players are happy that they get to go and play in a tournament with other teams. Every team has to start somewhere and every player has to start somewhere to become better ball players. This type of format gives coaches and players allot of ball play in a short amount of time. It is ideal for evaluating a newly formed team or for a veteran team to see how the new one or two players they just added to their roster is going to do. I just wanted the girls and coaches to be able to play ball. I make 0 dollars on this and I put allot of time into making it the best format I can. I want to give every team the most game time for their dollar. For me as a TD I am glad I did not have to cancel the tournament and send anyone home regardless if they have to walk across the street to go home or drive a hundred miles. I just want to thank all the coaches and players for being patient during the rain delay.

McKinney 10U: 99 Anderson Express, 99 Glory, Texas Fire

How do you have results from a rain out tournament? How do come up with teams finishing in the order they did?

With the new VTD system in a rainout if they get in the bracket games (which they did) then they take those last teams that are still in it and go based on Runs allowed...so I heard. I don't like it because D-Bat beat Fire and advanced deeper, but because Fire allowed fewer runs they take 3rd...oh well it was a good warmup.

Anderson Express 99, Texas Glory 99s, 99 D-Bat (Savell)

Really good warmup

Was impressed with Anderson Express and Glory teams. They were a step above the rest of the field.

1)Express solid from top to bottom with a stud pitcher
2)Glory solid from top to bottom. They are always tough and seem to stay together
3)D-bat still needs 2-3 players but lefty pitcher was solid and the catcher was hitting
4)Texas Best had a hard throwing pitcher also, but still needs 3-4 players
5)Texas Fire just 2-3 players away and some practice away from being really good
6)Southern Edge just needs some time but was impressed with how they competed

I guess that is what separates the Glory, Express, Mizuno, RoughRider's of the world from the other teams..........2-3 players and practice.
