WHO ARE THE TOP 10 - 10U PITCHERS AND CATCHERS

by jag1 » Sat Jul 04, 2009 11:50 am

We played the fall at 12u and it really helped #1 with her speed when she came back in the spring to 10u. I will give you some advice especially if she has always played up ( #1 played 10u since she was 7yr old as a pitcher ). Play the fall up if she wants, but let her come back down in the spring to dominate among her peers. It will teach her at a young age some intangibles that she might not have a chance to learn as always being the younger pitcher on the roster. I think allot of people think we put allot of pressure on #1 during tournaments and push her hard and long. They are right, but she has learned this is what that position is about. I will crow a bit now ! # 1 in my opinion is the toughest mentally of any pitcher I have watched in 10u since I have watched 10u travel ball ( and this is my second time around ). She has the focus and competitive streak in her that I have not witnessed in any other 10u pitcher. She does not rattle easy ! In my opinion it is her greatest quality of all as a pitcher. You know your daughter best I'm sure you will know what's best for her. 8-)

Hey 10u parents......time for a reality check..! Just because lil' Suzie is blowing it by 9 year olds, and you honestly believe she's a future thoroghbred... it doesn't always work out that way. The big kids now get out-grown, the "mentally tough" ones end up as basket cases over one rotten boyfriend, and the truly competitive ones burn-out or burn up their arms and knees. there are plenty of big time players that couldn't make their rec ball 10u all-star team, the hype sure starts early down there!! ..all sarcasm aside, keep it in perspective and give them plenty of time to be kids...

Hey jerk this is not my first rodeo ! Keep putting those great athletes out of that great state of yours. We understand ya’ll can not play ball all year up there but you yanks are still the experts on the sport. Keep reading all the southern posts and wishing you were down here. Bring your 16u team down and we will get them signed up in a 10u tournament they might finish in the top five. Sounds like ya’ll have ruined several young athletes by the response you had on this 10u post. Stay on your post oh your state post has no activity. Ha HA HA !

haven't some of those over-competitive parents been known to get out of hand down there..? (cheerleading rings a bell..!) I would bet if those Big 12 coaches would look at more Midwestern kids, there would be alot less of the over inflated "phenoms" ..(10u...ha!ha!) without scholarships. Just like this entire thread....WAY TOO much hot air from down there..!!!

Come on down and play awhile. We will show you more that hot air. That is if you have the courage to play some South Texas Softball. Which by the way is the best softball in the nation.

Tex dont waste yout time, they dont have a clue what kind of softball we play down in the south. They could not relate how much time these girls put into playing at such a high level unless they come down and play in a nat tournament and compete against these kids in these softball hot beds. Cal and AZ know the deal. Cal set the bar for the rest of the country years ago. The southern states have cought up with them and have competed well as of late. Just watch the collage ranks and were the girls are comming from and you can tel were the softball hot beds are located in the nation. :D

You know if you want to come on a public forum and brag about your home state feel free. Just don't get all butt hurt when your boasts are not supported by the facts ;)

Say Hammer and Tex, be more specific about South Texas - where do you guys play, if you are that competitive, I would love to come watch. I have seen a few socal teams, arizona, florida, GA, IN, IL teams play and would love to see you guys play.
