This is what I think to be correct on 14U H of Fame:

1st Fusion - Undefeated

2nd Diamond Dusters

3rd Tazers

4th Peppers

5th (tied) Shadows / Rapid Fire

7th (tied) Texas Hawks / Fusion (Mendez)

There was some FANTASTIC softball being played this past weekend.

Props to ALL the teams!
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

yes thats what I meant by true 94 team.....we have no 93's and are a team that was put together less than 6 months ago. Let me also say that we follow Garland High School softball, and yet the fusion(sidwell) vs. Peppers game had an awesome crowd and atmosphere. It was only exceeded by the quality of play by those two teams. It was more electric than any of the playoff games I've seen. :ugeek:

By the way, according to my figuring.....4 of the top 8 were from Houston....and 4 of the top 8 were from Dallas....hmmmmmm    ... :ugeek:

What , no Glory teams in top 10. This has to be a first ! lol. Thought there were some big upsets in this division. Fusion (Mendez) over Travelers (Splash) had to be the biggest.

Yes, honcho, your observation should be disturbing to all of us in Central Texas. I will probably be skewered for saying this, but we (central Texas) are behind. It took an entire season of my daughter playing with a North Texas team before she began to hit and pitch at that level. Now we are back on a central Texas team and the only teams we beat at the HOF were another central Texas team and a south Texas team. I don't have an answer that doesn't cost alot of money in gas and hotels ie. taking our team and travelling to Houston or Dallas every weekend to play. Even playing up 18u can't make up for it as we won a local 18u tournament the weekend before HOF. Now I know some key Austin teams weren't at HOF and perhaps playing more in Austin would be a help to us, I just don't know. We have a lot of good talent, we just need to see these types of teams more often I guess. Any helpful thoughts out there?

I don't really know....except I know in the past, it seemed to me that dallas and houston have done a good job of recruiting central texas.....of course if gas doesn't stop getting higher and higher, we may only be able to play in our own neighborhoods :x ....I also think that sometimes teams/parents don't have the patience/and or dedication to travel to those hotspots and take some lumps as the team/players grow....so that makes for an easy target for some teams to cherry pick. :ugeek:

You're right about the willingness to travel as a team. Sometimes its just hard to get everyone on board with that. Hey - Congratulations to your team and your sister team!! Y'all were amazing, though I was sorry you guys lost to Shadow - shouldn't have happened! Good luck to you guys this summer, we'll enjoy watching you guys continue to grow and surprise people, although I don't think anyone will be as surprised after last weekend.
