Pony Boy thanks for taking time away from your golf game. I know how much you need the practice. I spoke with your golfing partner Allen R and he said the only 2 good balls you hit the last time you all played was when you stepped on the rake. But he said he was able to regrip your shaft and after that you were able to swing freely. Giggle giggle laugh
Again, the purpose here is not ASA vs VTD for me, it is just trying to gain some clarification. I accurately stated that VTD was charging more for their tournaments than ASA. That is a fact. The term you need to understand is value. You will get no argument from me about VTD being a better value than ASA in terms of tournaments. So while I appreciate you taking the time to respond, it was completely unnecessary because your whole response was based on value and not cost. I said cost not value. Here is the math you and ADNIL are looking for:
VTD $425/6 = 70.83 per game
ASA $325/4 = 81.25 per game
Based on my logic based math, VTD is obviously the better value in terms of average tournament criteria per organization. However, my original comment way back when was dealing with VTD charging $425 for 6 games tournaments for ASA charging $140 for 4 game friendlys. The math there is as follows:
VTD $425/6 = 70.83 per game
ASA Friendly $140/4 = 35.00 per game
Ouch! Yes Spazdad I know I am comparing tournaments to friendlys. But it is not comparing apples to oranges it is more like comparing filet mignon to hot dogs. I would far rather play 4 games against the very best teams in the area that are going to be top 10 or top 20 at ASA nationals than play 6 games against a 16 team filled with 1, maybe 2 , competitive team(s).
Also just for good measure I will admit you "learned" me in the art of cut and paste and display those skills now for the edification of the masses out there not from North TX. Not all of your scenario addressed in your response is completely accurate for all VTD tournaments. Here is just an example of one VTD OPEN tournament highlighting the rules for VTD play:

In all seriousness, VTD does have the right approach to tournaments. They are a better value than ASA when it comes to tournaments. Using pool to seed into a bracket is good business. But lets me completely truthful here, VTD is in existence because of a WEBSITE not because of some product on the field. They are also in existence because of MONEY.
You are also right that in the end it is all about trying to get school paid for to some degree assuming your DD wishes to play and is not being forced or pushed by mom & dad. But it is awfully naive to think that is going to get done in PONY.
