I have been through this before. The 98 parents that haven't watched much 12u this last year are in for a big surprise ! This is the age where allot of the girls coming up from 10u have not hit there growth spurt and allot of the older 12u girls are at full maturity. Can make for some miss match games. I would think this is why this is the age allot of girls wash out there first year in 12u ( especially pitchers ). No more just blowing it by the batter. Must learn to set up batters and keep them off balance with hitting spots and off speed pitches with movement. Speed of teams will also become a bigger advantage this year. Must be able to get around the bags this year to stay in these games. I don't see any 98 teams hanging with the top 97 teams early fall or even spring. The better coaches will have there teams competing by early to mid-summer with the better 97 teams if tryouts go well for the 98's and talent is condensed this year in that age group. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE ! Good luck at tryouts ! ;)

I can tell someone with limited knowledge about 12U posted the teams for the poll...most likely someone from a 10U moving up to 12's. Outside of the Red Hots it is questionable .]

Have to agree with five 98 teams being in the top ten.

That is probably b/c you are with one of them and again are not very knowledgeable about 12U. That is ok though you will see. Hammer is right on.

You'd have to play 14u to have a shot at them. I can't see that team playing in straight non title 12U tournaments there'd be little to gain. They've shown they can compete and beat the 96 teams so no reason not to move up and keep the pressure on.

If they play in very many 12u tournaments they will be the measuring stick for this age group for sure. They are beatable for some of the 98 teams if tryouts go well and it still wont be until later in the summer. And to do it, you will have to catch them when there having a bad weekend. ;)

Vegas and USA Today did not have odd's out yet on the Houston teams, so I took a stab at it. Ok who do we need to add and remove from the poll? This is just for entertainment purposes.

Wait until after tryouts next week and see if anyone wants to chance their votes. Then you can adjust the poll to reflect reality instead of last season's teams.

Birds are buzzing about all the alleged changes to come.

It's gonna be fun. Good luck to everyone at tryouts.
