Can do!!! But I will have to raise the gas prices some more ;)

I bet 22's dad does not pay $4 a gallon. He gets it the refinery for free probably.. Plus most will tell you they do not pay more than $60 a barrell. well they might be honest and tell you that..LOL

I will say that the NTX teams played well, you can't win them all. We had a tough outing ourselves but overall our girls played very well. We will be ready for the HOF qualifier in Dallas. See ya in Big D!

TSE 98 I am glad you put a run together, well deserved.

this past weekend in the 6th Annual TPS Money Tournament. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves because that is all we have to offer each of you that enter our tournaments. I also want to send out a BIG great job to Storm Elite (Vaughn) and parents for hosting the 12's in Southbelt. You guys did an AWESOME job!!!! Congrats to ALL the girls that went yard this past weekend and to all the teams that played well this past weekend. I hope all the girls that got banged up recover quickly an get on the dirt quickly and I hope everyone got familiar with each other before ALL the qualifiers start. I understand there were some issues with officiating this past weekend. Again, EVERY umpire that participated this past weekend at a minimum does High school games most do College games. That means they have been thoroughly evaluated. I instructed them since there was money on the line we were going to run this just like NATIONALS. That's why the rules about being outside the dugout and the calls about illegal pitches were called. Each and every one of you will Thank me in about 4 months because you won't be at Nationals and get 30 illegal pitch violations called on you when you get there. I GAURANTEE if you don't get it fixed they WILL call it at NATIONALS. Again, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Here are the results for both divisions:

12U
1. TPS
2. TX Storm Elite
3. Power
4. Legendz

14U
1. Aces Express
2. Glory Adkins (Turkory)
3. TPS (Miller)
4. Young Guns

14U - Glory is an NTX team, last I checked, 2nd place should be considered "fared well".

12U - 2 teams travel and both finish in the top-10 out of 24 teams. Not bad

I guess in STX you teach your kids that 2nd place is the first loser.

Congrats to all the teams; for you few NTX teams, good job.

See you in 2 weeks for the Dallas HOF qualifier.

@liveintexas...

If you read the post the poster says "in 12U" NTX did not do well. I don't think he was referring to 14U.

My comment "fare well" was directed at 12u. And again with all the hype from NTX on Glory and Fusion with the 57 mph pitching Which by the way I never saw, and then they finish 7 and 9 in a local Texas Tournment. Whether you drove 4 hours or not (that is the reason they call it TRAVEL ball) is not a good showing for the NTX 12u teams. So do not blame the finishes on travel. alot of talk goes on before a tournment but when the teams don't do well excuses start happening. Is that the way NTX operates. WE all Travel. In this meeting STX came out on top. Maybe and I say Maybe again, that the next times these teams meet it could be different. When we travel North for the Qualifiers we will see what happens.. Until next time we live with the results of this Tournment.

And to answer 1 of the other comments I think second is a great finish for any team, and in STX we teach our kids respect of the game and how to play the game.

It is unfortunate that once again a message is not taken correctly and the standard reply accompanies it.

Thank you for explaining to me what travel ball means because I now feel much better about the thousands of dollars on hotels, meals, and dues that I've paid for a few years. I wasn't using it as an excuse but I could understand how you would see it as such.

My point was that 7th and 9th are quite respectable given the tough field. I would question whether or not there was that much hype about NTX except for the "watcher fella" who I am convinced is either an STX rec parent trying to stir up trouble or a parent whose kid got cut loose from Fusion.

I look forward to the Dallas tourney because it'll be the first true test of the year of the "best of the best". Good luck to all.

I think instead of getting into a pure North vs. South debate you first have to have an idea of the competition encountered, etc.

One of the posters on fastpitchdirt made a very good analysis of the top 13 teams. This particular poster is a former coach and did a very good job at analyzing. Here is his post:

Money Tourney Break down 1st-13th (12U)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that I get to watch games I'll throw out some observations. The blind draw wasn't too bad with only 1 seemingly soft spot early and a few LB matchups that left something to be desired

1st
TPS- looked strong as usual not unbeatable but you better play error free defense and hit the gaps and lines on offense. Still the top team in the State in my opinion and can win most 12u tourneys and probably be in the top 5 of most 14u tourneys

2nd
Storm Elite 98- After some shake ups recently they came out with something to prove this weekend and definitely put themselves back in the talks of a top 10 teams in Houston

3rd
Power- With an ever expanding roster (14) the girls seem to be settling into the coaching and are starting to click. I'd put them in the top 5 of any tourney they enter in the 12's and probably top 10 in most 14u's

4th
Legendz- Always in the mix and seem to have gotten over the hot and cold spells they had in previous seasons. I may be wrong but they have a roster that has been together a while and that always helps to develop the synergy of a team.

5th
Rage- Another team that has held a core for some time. They are adding the right pieces and should continue to stay near the top in most tourneys

Total Package- 2 good showings this fall when all the top teams are together. They had a beneficial draw in both but seem to be doing the right things. I would like to see how they handle a big opponent early in a tourney

7th
Bombers- Also had a beneficial draw they seemed a bit 1 dimensional with a team built on power hitting rather than the mix of speed we normally see in STX.

Glory- I didn't watch them but based on the outcome and what I have heard they are similar to the other NTX teams

9th
Fusion- Another team swinging for the fences. 1-4 seemed solid but beyond that they looked a bit undisciplined at the plate. Struggled with the Mustangs and again against TPS and power. I never saw a radar gun but I also didn't see 57mph blowing everyone away

Panthers- haven’t showed well early in the season but if this weekend is a sign they are back on track and should be right where they need to be when it counts

Smash- Still short on players losing their SS to Force. They always seem to keep the games close and pull it off when it counts. Another team that will piece it together and be in the mix throughout the season

Phantomz 99- Should shake things up if they catch the upper teams off guard

13th
Force- Has been on a recruiting terror and have filled the roster (11) they didn't have a great showing but they also had one of the tougher draws in the tourney TPS, Cyfair Storm, Panthers. Undoubtedly will be right where they need to be when the time is right.

RR mustangs- First tourney good showing but will have to be consistent to gain the respect of the upper teams.

Heat 99- (DD's new team I'll avoid being biased) Good team consider the top 99 by most coaches I spoke too.

TPS 98 went 6-0 with no bye (played Sudden Impact, Katy Force, Fusion, Total Package, and Storm Elite...played SE twice in WB final and ship).

Storm Elite went 5-2 with no bye (played Phantomz, Houston Power (twice), Legendz, Rage and TPS 98...played TPS twice in winners bracket final and ship)

Houston Power went 6-2 with a bye (played Storm Elite...twice in first game and 3rd place game, Hit Away, Mizuno, Fusion, Bombers, Rage and Legendz). This included 6 straight back to back games on Sunday.

Teams that traveled to Houston...

Austin Storm went 0-2 with a bye (played Fusion and Panthers 98)

Fusion went 2-2 with no bye (beat RR Mustangs, beat Austin Storm, lost to TPS 98, lost to Houston Power)

Glory went 3-2 with no bye (beat Panthers 98, beat Peppers 99, lost to Rage 97, beat Phantomz, lost to Legendz)

Texas Bombers went 3-2 with no bye (beat Mizuno, beat Peppers 98, lost to Total Package, beat Sugarland Smash, lost to Houston Power)

Hopefully, with the copied post above and the information on opponents this will provide a better reading as to the strength of the top 3 from STX vs. the records of our neighbors from up North and Central Texas.

The important thing is that Texas represents well at Nationals!
