" I don’t think the Woodlands offense compares to Tomball’s offense."

I agree that Round Rock Stony Point is a fantastic team. Those were good games last year. I wonder why they were not first in their district? I see that Round Rock was first in that district, rather than Stony Point. Tomball beat Round Rock in preseason and at the Bryan tournament this year. RR has a 3baseman that can crush the ball.

Rowlett is in the same part of the bracket as the Woodlands. Another great team. Unfortunately RR Stony Point and Rowlett are more teams not getting the same hype as the Woodlands.

Good luck again to all the teams. It's not going to be easy for anyone in 5A and would love to see a team not even mentioned make it through.

The difference between Round Rock & Round Rock Stony Point is that Stony Point has a great pitcher going to Ole Miss (she's a junior right now).... They've gone out during the preseason beating some pretty good "ranked" teams, and are crushing the ball... They'll be losing 5 seniors this year...
Round Rock has a very young team (only losing 3 seniors)..Their pitcher is ONLY a freshman, & have 3 freshman, 3 sophmores, & 1 junior, starters, still coming back next year.. I see them both going deep into the playoffs..... Good Luck to both teams!

We dont need to recount how many Number 1 sure bet teams did not win it all in every sport known to man. Those interviews on the Woodlands website seem very arrogant. Many Texans are more humble than that at least in public.

Rumor is a bunch of central Texas teams did what they could to stay away from the Woodlands in the bracket. SP and RR, co-champs, flipped for the right to choose 1 or 2. I think SP won and picked #2. SP vs Bowie and RR v Anderson are one game winner takes all.

Those one game playoffs could really present havoc on those heavily favored teams. One bad inning. One bad call. An emotional play. Playing in a rain storm. near the end of the game could end a season.

93 you're correct on the RR, Stony Point coin flip.. They are co-champs.. However, RR won the toss and chose the #1 seed... Either way, I don't think anyone is "avoiding" Woodlands, I've heard they've got a good team, it would just mean a good game....

The important point when evaluating "top ranked" teams is who have they played? Similarly, if they played a good team, who was pitching when they played? Many of the top ranked teams have not played good teams or not faced good pitchers. They get their reputation by beating lesser teams 15-0 in notoriously weak districts.

They will breeze through the first round and perhaps the second, but once they get up against a good team the test will start. Run ruling everyone in your district is not a good way to prepare for the playoffs. A run rule game means your number one pitcher only went 5 innings or perhaps less. She recorded a bunch of strike outs, but really didn't face quality batters.

You see a lot of Houston area teams listed in the top 25 year after year with impressive records and runaway wins. Playoffs start and you look up and they gone by the third round.

Not sure going out in the third round is necessarily an indication that a team didn't deserve its ranking. By the third round in most Regions in Class 5A and 4A you've got some state-ranked teams facing each other. You'll have Plano or Hebron and also Flower Mound Marcus and Keller facing each other in the third round in Class 5A.

I agree. Also factor in that these third round games will likely feature tougher opponents than the following round.
