But, last year there were a few 97's that played in 14U tournaments that the 14's looked more like allstar teams and not competitive teams. Some of the 97's played just so they could boast that they did it and not because they could compete against most of the 14's.

Good luck to everybody and remember, it's for the girls not the sucky parents!!

Very good statement. 12u should play 12u, then if the competition level is not there then play GOOD 14u teams. We will see in a few tournments whether the competition is there are not, and who is the competition this Fall. It will give a good idea of what is to come in the Spring . I feel the, so called, top 12u teams will fine the competition alot stronger than they think it is.

We will all find out soon enough. Good luck this season and hope everyone stays healthy.

What is this a 97 thread ? There might be to many 98 teams in the championship games for your liking as well ! Before it is all said and done ! :o

I am sure it will happen on occasion...that is, that a true 98 team will be in championship play but I would not get your hopes up too high... :o

Ha Ha Ha now it has to be a true 98 team now. Some of these 12u bucket head's are as funny as the 10u bucket head's. Always leaving the door open for an excuse why they may get beat. If anyone has noticed it is 12u division. Who cares what the ages are. If your team has 97's on it great, if it has 98's on it great, if it has 96's on it great. If they are playing 12u and they are with in the birth date required to play 12u, play ball ! If the talent condenses to make teams stronger who cares what the ages are on the team. I think it is great if teams have older girls mixed with younger girls on a team. It helps the younger girls learn while they are getting seasoned without having to get beat up there first year moving up to a older division. I wonder what these same people will complain about when in high school or 18u the teams really have a broad range of different age girls on the team. We don't go to a tournament without our hopes high ! When we enter a tournament we come to try and win it !

My question has not been answered, are there any only 98 teams on this list? I am sure there are, if so which ones can hang with the Redhots/HV? If a 98 team with some 97’s beats a top team in a championship game or bracket, then great, good job! They should be proud. Just don’t boast around town that 98 beat a 97 when it was a mix of ages. If a 98 only team beats a Top 97 team, then that is truly something to be proud of, and smear it all over the bucket. Just don’t add any pictures of giant nuggets to it.

If you win a tournament in 12u you should be proud of it ! I don't care what age you are ! Don't think at the high profile tournaments this fall there wont be some 96's playing in them. Remember it is big girl ball now!

Already hanging with the top 96's (and even beating them) all last year...
Goal is to make a really strong showing at 12U ASA nationals in 2010...
Strong competition makes you stronger....

Why NOT? No insult to the 98 teams and even other 97 teams. Just what's best for YOUR team. Can't imagine how that can be interpreted as hiding from the other 12U teams.

Why play 14u as 12u when you haven't played a single damn game this year in 12u. Give the other 75 teams a chance. When you win all those then flap your gums and do the chicken dance "or what ever makes you happy" .
