D/FW is soooo overrated. Yes, in the early age groups their teams have some success. But once they get to 12U and older, the best TEAMS are from Houston. I've read some D/FW posters talk about how over-hyped the 97 Kruzers or Longhorns are. They are wrong, the most over-hyped team in Tx is the Diamonds. What have they done in the past 2 years? Answer: nuthin! They want to brag about playing up in 14U and 16U tournaments only to not place in these tournaments. What's the point? To give you a built in excuse for when you go 3-3 and finish in a tie for 9th place? I've heard from friends in the D/FW grapevine that they are a shell of what they once were and consistently lose to inferior teams. Evidently they have had turmoil on the team and have lost several players in the past few years. It seems to me that if they truly were that good that we would see them more down here in Houston showing off their dominance. They probably know what would happen if they did show up for one of our good tournaments. Fusion is the top team in North Tx.

As far as the HOF goes, I am going on record now as saying they will not finish in the top 3. No North Tx team will, however they will not be the highest finishing team from D/FW. I also get tired of the Pepper heads and their falsely inflated egos. They are the 2nd most over-rated team in Tx. I GUARANTEE they will not finish top 3.

For the record, here is my top 3 in no particular order:

Bandits
Thunder
team from Central Tx - either Bombers or Austin Finest

What have they done in the last two years? Runner-up at ASA Nationals for starters
A shell of the team they use to be? Better check your source on that one
If you want to see them you need to get in your car and drive up to Dallas and play them, they don't have to go to Houston to prove the are a good team...

oh well I still like the way this tournament is forming the way it should, the OK HOF should only bring out the 2 best teams and Texas will be represented well!

Oklahoma HOF only has 3 teams signed up, I wonder if they will even play it.

96 Bandits from San Antonio, I believe if it's the same team that one or our friends is on, have 3 or 4 girls on their team who are true 14U girls. Right? Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Peace out!!

Magic Man or should i say Diamonds parent -

I am aware of their 2nd place finish at Nationals. I think everybody on this board is, you and your fellow Diamonds parents do a good job of pointing that out to everyone. But that was 2 years ago, duh, thats why I said they havent done anything in the past 2 years.

Why would I want to drive to D/FW when I have better competition right here in my own backyard? I do find it somewhat curious that you did not address my comments about team turmoil and loss of players.

One more comment, throw Nemesis in with most over-rated as well. They are nothing but a bunch of big girls who rely on size to try and intimidate. Most of them are not highly skilled and their coaching is suspect.

The calendar I am looking at has August of 2007 in the past two years. I don't disagree with you that there are good teams in Houston, Austin, or any other State. Your the one coming on here saying everyone that is not from your area is overrated. As for the turn over I do not think the Diamonds have had any more turnover than most teams... The Nemesis are a good team as well I think... But what do I know

Czar might have got this one right.
After this weekend, Nemesis has proved they are not what they were hyped up to be. They are "suspect" at best. Heard there is a team up North better than them, possibly two.
Diamonds will compete, and at the HOF, they will place in top 3 and prove they are still the "Diamonds". After the HOF, all the talk is done, but until then maybe we can all go North, South, East, West, and invite the 2 from OK and have a throw down !

What 2 teams up in Oklahoma are you referring to?

Honestly, I can not give you names.  BIL lives in OK and my niece plays in that area.  We trade rumor mill, you know how it goes. Anyway, Nemesis "may not be the best from OK" is my response, seen Nemesis play at Bomber, have not seen these others. I am not worried about OK teams, I am more interested in our own state, North vs. South, whos who and the HOF.

Word on the street....

Fusion has a great team and are quitely letting teams become familiar with them. We talk about all the teams in the state and only a few mention the Fusion-Routon team. Interesting.

Someone mentioned that the HOF top 3 would be Bandits, Thunder and Austins' Finest or the Bombers. I was with you till AF & the Bombers were selected. It will be interesting.....

....as we continue to keep it real! :)
