[i]Legacy will be even tougher this year if they bring in the sophomore pitcher who has verballed to Baylor. They have had her throwing JV.. Crazy. You really could have 2 D1 pitchers throwing 1 and 2 for Legacy. If she does that then yes, I would agree Legacy is the team to beat. If not, then I still think it is SGP.

Can someone tell me how a verbal would go when given to a sophomore? I know there has been a lot of discussion on how much weight a verbal carries, and if each party has to honor it, but I would like to know about what could be offered in this case. When there are 3 1/2 more years before this girl will get to the school, how would each party know what to ask for?

Such as, would the university say we will be giving you a 50% ride at this point, but it could be more, or it could be less. Or, is it simply an agreement that at this time, the school is interested in the girl, and the girl is interested in the school, with no details involved.

I am always curious as to what could really be agreed upon.

I am not sure what age group your dd is currently in but the best way for you to find that out is to get invited on an unofficial visit to a school your dd is interested in, and they are interested in her, and discuss it with the head coach of that said school while you are there.
If it ain't broke, why fix it??

Everyone is forgetting to mention Klein Collins... I think they will give any team a run for their money this year. Considering they only lost 2 players!

That is what I figured too, just wanted to hear Sam the Shams answer as I already know you know it all. LOL

What the heck does that mean?? I must of missed that movie..

Watch and see, 55 will be back this season for The Woodlands.

Phantomz, ease up. I meant EXACTLY what Spazsdad said. Its OK. If you are getting this defensive over a post on a website, you are going to lose your mind when your daughter pitches in high school!

I lost my mind a long time ago. :D Wasn't meant to sound defensive, just curious, that's all. ;)

Will have to find a way past Foster and Angleton to get very far in the playoffs, is going to be a competitive year for Houston 4A!

There are some good 4A teams in the Houston area for sure, I was just stating that, in the case of Manvel, they had a pitcher move into the district that is pretty good. They were missing that element last year. Having a good pitcher will help them compete with Santa Fe for a district crown.

Any of these teams coming out to Bullhead City, AZ for the Tournament of Champions in March?

I know some of the teams mentioned here have been to the tournament over the last few years. I have been an umpire in that tournament for the last ten or so years...always some great HS softball!

Wish 55 from the Woodlands a speedy (take your time) recovery. Only wish her the best, and all of the girls during their HS season ! In my dd district Tomball, KC, KO will be the tough ones.

Once again Good Luck !
