Thanks SBALLWARRIOR. I really appreciate that.

We have played the Red Hots and would have liked to play some of the other 12U studs. Maybe we will all get lucky and make it to the bracket??

Yeh, I will be there Mark. I will be the one sleeping or reading my book during the games. Until Sunday anyways. ;)

To the others on this thread. Its obvious you have not seen the 14U Power lately, let me give you a hint and go check out their website. This Power team is real so shut up with the 12U picks and save your bragging for after the tournament. Most of the 14U teams in this tournament would get beat by a 98 team so don't brag about beating them. Go out and beat Power, Bombers, 96 Impact or Phantomz and I will eat my words but don't brag about anything else.

As far as seeding goes, maybe it should be seeded by the results after the last completed inning.

You can take these picks to Vegas

Pool A - Phantomz
Pool B - Bombers
Pool C - Houston Power
Pool D - Sudden Impact

Anyof these 4 could be in the ship, but it will definately 2 of these 4. Take it to Vegas.

Agreeded they are the Real Deal (Power or whatever team Jeff has coached) and have been doing it for several years. I'm hoping to try and give them a good game. The teams that know the 14's are the ones keeping there mouths shut. It's the one's that aren't quite sure about second year 14's and the GOOD first year or mixed that are making all the noise on here. They will see first hand this weekend.
Good luck to everyone and pray for GOOD weather.

TXFASTPITCH Coach it sounds like you are scared to ruffle any 14u feathers......you do understand that all the pressure is on the 14's and not you. Believe me, this is not the first time around the block for most of these 12's. Don't be scared to shake up old Mark w/ the Phantomz, you are not in his pool anyway. It should be interesting to see all these STUD 14u's trying to hit the 12U pitchers. I only have one question, is this an A tournament or a B tournament. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

First, I'd like to follow up with what UNDERDOG stated earlier about the so called "gold" players on the Phantomz. These are two good kids who don't deserve to be the target of some people's issue with the Phantomz. They are 8th graders and I have watched them play. IMO, they are pretty good players at the 14u level, but just because some 18u coach out there gave them a chance to play on an 18u team doesn't make them "gold" players. Obviously some 18u coach has convinced them that this is a good decision, so don't make this their issue. Take it up with all the coaches who are out there telling these young players that they need to be playing "gold" ball.

Second, this tournament has taken twist for the worse in my opinion. I'm sure the 14u teams signed up to play in this tournament expecting some good games against teams in their own age division. They had plenty of teams in both the 12u division and the 14u division so why did they mix the two age divisions??? I guess all anyone can do now is go out and play. Maybe some 12u teams will gain some kind of false confidence by playing and possibly beating some 14u teams. Maybe the 14u teams will beat up on the 12u teams. Either case, what is the true benefit of playing this tournament? I have my doubts....

Last, I'm sure when it is all said and done at the end of the weekend, there will be plenty of excuses and smack talking flying around on this site.

What 12U pitching you talking about?? I have not really seen any that are just dominating, but we also have not played the ICE. I know they have at least one very hard throwing pitcher. I am anxious to get to the park today to see if there were any 12U upsets of 14U teams. The two we played yesterday were taken care of pretty handily and our Gold pitcher did not even pitch both games?? Hum, wonder how we could do that without her going both games
??

As for this format with all these 12's and the tournament being labeled The Best of The Best, that is a bunch of crap and I will definately think twice before playing in another one of thse. It is not even finish the inning, it is finish the batter. That is screwy.

Good Luck to everybody and.

The weather is so soooo beautiful.
