First of all Joe - I love how you all take part of a sentence (about parents standing outside) and want to turn that into a big deal but apparently didn't read anything else as you continued to ask what I thought was wrong from an organizational standpoint even though I pointed out several things and made suggestions on how to change it.

Some of those suggestions would have eased the traffic, especially getting the bat bags out of the way and having all the cages open. I half agree about the parents, but as a parent, I wanted to hear what was being taught at some of those stations. Either to incorporate into our drills or to see how my kid was interacting with a certain coach.

The important aspects for me are to see how each coaching style works with my DD and how the coach was teaching after 5 or 6 straight hours. Were they getting grumpy, did they have the same enthusiasm, did a different personality come out, and was the qualty as good. As another poster said, I thought they were excellent after teaching for so long.

I believe I got my monies worth and even more so if the weather would have cooperated and the original schedule held. The defensive session for us (group A) wasn't very good, but we were also inside. On the other hand, she wouldn't have cared if Coach Walton would have told her to bunny hop for 90 minutes, she would have done it with a smile. Add to that, 3 hours of semi-private batting lessons with college coaches, not too bad.

And I hope D-Bat made some good money. It was an excellent fundraising idea.

You've complained about everything but the fact your daughter got personalized instruction from college coaches from:
Florida (SEC),
Georgia (SEC),
Oklahoma State (Big XII),
Syracuse (Big East),
University of the Pacific (Big West),
Tulsa (Conference USA),
Lousiana Tech (WAC);
West Texas A&M (Lone Star),
UT-Tyler (Div. III)
2 coaches from Butler College (JUCO) and Trinity Valley College (JUCO).

I hope these coaches made a few bucks. But except for Walton, I doubt any of them netted more than $500 or so after travel expenses, hotels, meals, etc. for the two days they were in town. If DBAT made a few bucks as well . . . good!

Personalized instruction is a HUGE stretch!

The whole point, IMHO, of the girls attending the camp is to get recruited. I did not feel that the way they set it up they maximized that opportunity for the girls. I did not have will not bash DBat, and instead I have given examples of things I believe I feel they could have done to make the camp better and allowed for the more "personalized instruction". While you may choose to disagree with my opinions again I have refrained from the "crap" I HATE about HB which is bashing of programs or other posters. Unfortunately, you haven't been able to do the same.

Some would tell me to just leave this stuff alone but why should my opinion be any less than anyone else's. Just because I disagree with you? I thought that stating opinions, making suggestions for improvement, and discussing softball was what this board was all about. Is that not the case?

All I have to say about the holiday camp is that the girls wearing the black mizuno shirts were very impresive hitting wise. It seemed like they all have great swings and hit the ball real hard for their age I have never seen girls swing the bat like that at that age. Very impressive. They were the talk amongst people who saw them hit. I don't know if they do have a hitting coach or someone who works with them but obviously whoever it is they're doing a great job. Kudos to team mizuno '98 u girls look great.

Very crowded, very unorganized, and very wet and cold for the outdoor portion.

They really got their monies worth. They double dipped!

. . . They have known since deciding to do the camp that weather could be an issue and they knew as much as a week ago that it was highly likely that the weather wasn't going to allow for the outdoor event.

Do you seriously believe you didn't come onto Heybucket and bash DBAT? Your whole series of posts has been just one typical Heybucket bashing of DBAT bitch session. You are the pot calling the kettle black.

I am not afiliated with team mizuno whatsoever. My daughter actually has played several times against them. If you don't believe me on how good those little girls swings are all u have to do is go look at them.

Really? Those items are considered "bashing". So any criticism or suggestion of things that could be done better are now bashing? See the bashing I talk about is accusing organizations or individuals of things that are false or perceived to false and all of the name calling and such.

In your three examples, I asked a question and then stated my opinion. No one would argue it was very crowded, in my opinion it was unorganized and I have since stated how I would have improved it and without a doubt it was cold.

Then by explaining that those three coaches put on both the American Freedom and DBat camp and stating they "double dipped". Again - first of all it was truth and where did I bash Dbat? If anything I could have been perceived that I was knocking the college coaches but certainly not DBat or American Freedom.

They did know since deciding to do that camp that it could be effected by weather and they certainly could have watched the weather forecast for yesterday 3-5 days in advance which should have at the very least allowed them to clear the boys schedules out to allow for more space and more personal attention to the campers. Again, how is this bashing by stating that this was obvious and something that didn't seem to be considered?

Finally, I stated that I overheard several players and parents trying to figure out where they were to go for their next station and that I believed there was a lack of communication, where's the bashing? It's a personal opinion, and I threw some of these things out there to see if others had the same thoughts and maybe, just maybe, someone from Dbat will read this and think that at least one of my suggestions is useful and put it to use the next time they host a camp.

Yes. The comments posted are "bashing" DBAT for it's lack of planning, decisions, money grubbing, etc.

I just don't think I realized you were bashing the coaches from Syracuse, West Texas A&M, and UT-Tyler as well for making $200 on Monday night ($25 X 25 kids divided equally) at a camp where they got an extra look at some players who they might be interested in the next day. I'm sure that extra $200 will get the Syracuse coach at least halfway home. I'm just guessing here, but I'll bet the UT-Tyler assistant coach could probably use a couple of extra C-notes at Christmas time.
