Who are legit in 16u?

by TexasYellowBall » Tue May 05, 2009 12:26 pm

Everyone is forgetting about Central Texas again, but who can blame them since CT does not have a great history.

Texas Bombers will play in the San Antonio Metro and they expect a cake walk to SD.

Texas Blaze, Texas Stix and Austin Storm will compete in State, NQ, etc... Since Austin does not have a metro. Texas Stix are young , but they could sneak in at Regionals. Texas Blaze Prinzo qualified early last year because they were overlooked. TB Prinzo added talent and did not lose anyone. Austin Storm will be way better this year then they were last year. They have reloaded with very good talent.

I think Storm and Blaze Prinzo will qualify. Bombers and Stix could be left out.

Austin Stars will be playing a second year in 16U and I look for them to be top six team in state including all metro teams.

Texas Glory (Naudin)
Austin Stars
Texas Travelers (Huddleston)
Texas Glory (Foutch)
South Texas
South Texas

I certainly forgot about the Austin Stars. I defiantly did not mean any disrespect.

With that said, I think they will compete, but TOP 6 in the STATE !!!! Time will tell, I wish the Austin Stars good luck this summer season.

I'll predict all but one of the Glory's qualify (not including the 94's, they aren't signed up for any qualifiers-yet), and all but one of the Elite's qualify. Fusion yes, TT-H yes, TT-J ?, AF yes.

? on TT-J just because I don't know them at all.

DFW takes the HOF spots, S. TX takes the NQ, split at Regionals.

BTW, I'm 0 for 2 on predictions.

I guess you are 1 for 3 in predictions after HOF spots go to DFW. Three spots go to - Glory-Foutch, Elite-Whitby, Glory-Naudin.

Yep, pretty bad at predictions. Good to hear the DFW teams take it.

I have UF winning the WCWS too!

I enjoyed the play of the Texas Storm Elite this weekend. What a team. Otherwise 16U looks weaker than it has been in the past. Alot of key Dallas, Houston, San Antonio organizations are weaker at 16U. I guess they were underwhelmed with the hundreds of college coaches at Owensboro last year. They must have moved those players up to Gold so they can not play in an ASA A Nationals this year. I bet California will bring the best out to Sioux Falls.

I see where Glory Foutch has qualified at metro but where is Glory Naudin? I thought Naudin was a dream team.

I am not sure why everyone thought that Naudin's group was so good to begin with. I have seen them play a few times, they are decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. I think everyone was drinking the kool-aid early on, but is starting to see they are what they are, a team that is going to have a hard time qualifying for nationals. I wish them goodluck, I think they will need it.

On the general discussions page of heybucket, they post the following Texas teams as having qualified for Sioux Falls:

TX
Austin Stars
Blaze-Prinzo
Fusion
Glory Foutch
Glory Adkins
Rage
Storm Elite
Travelers

Which team will finish highest?

Both Glory teams are tops on this list.

Fusion is a solid team that play good competition . Travelers seem to be hot and cold, but you would not want to play them when they are hot. Austin Stars and Rage beat the Central Texas Blaze at State, and I think the Bombers also beat the CT Blaze this year.

Just a guess. All depends on the draw.

By order of finish
Glory
Glory
Fusion
Storm
Stars
Travelers
Rage
Blaze
Bombers
