Texas Glory Adkins and Texas Glory Shelton

If that is true that is plane dumb!!!!

I dont know either of these guys, but Dan You left Glory for someone else to run when you left and now you come back and try to take it over again. Not good business.

I think you should change your organization's name.

Alright everyone blasted me a couple of weeks ago about organizations having too many Gold Teams. Now super Dan says he’s only going have one team in each age division and now the same people that was after me is patting Super Dan on the back. Dan congratulations for seeing the light. Mr. Shelton it might be time for you to change your organizations name Super Dan is back.

I would agree with sbfan, it does sound stupid to split the organization Glory Shelton/Glory Adkins.

Dan left and regardless of why he left, apparently at the time you felt Shelton was the man to continue the Glory Organization. I for one would say that Glory had a respectable season last year qualifing many teams to Nationals. Sounds to me a few parents/coaches had outlining issues and wanted to do things a different way. As you say you were contacted to come back and help with some girls who apparently felt mistreated by the new Glory leaders.
If that is true come back help them if you like, I just don't understand why you would want to run the organization through the mud that you worked so hard building. You gave it up start a new one.

Does it really matter what the teams names are? North Texas only has a limited number of girls that can play at the highest level. This isn't Southern CA were they apparently are everywhere. Good luck in your new adventure I bet you will have no problem fielding a team, everbody else does it.

Sounds like a smarter way to approach managing the club, Dan. Glory has raised the level of play in North Texas over the years and done a lot of good for many girls and their families. Hope it goes well.

And I hope there is means there will be more tournaments at Craig Ranch...we haven't played there since 2006.

FWIW Fastpitch360, I agreed with your posts and enjoyed reading the well thought out questions.

Everyone is going to complain about something, but it appears some positive changes are happening around here.
-Fusion has the same structure
-Glory & BB came out and said they were going to try limiting teams going forward
-Team TFS sounds like they are taking the national tournament route
-Avengers & TX Storm went to CA for some showcases
-and now this Glory post

IMO, it sounds like we (N TX) are restoring the natural hierarchy of competition. Limiting teams and only those players that fit the category will be a good thing for us.
Good Teams- where everyone gets to play
Better Teams- competitors that try and qualify and may beat the "Best" teams from time to time
Best Teams- the perennial power teams

Not everyone can be "Best" and some kids/families may like "Good".

Yes that is what I'm talking about. I think Shelton and Kenny G ought to follow in these foot steps. As far as team TFS that thing is to early to tell all I know if that dude didn't add anyone that team would fall in your good catagory

Great news! It is going to take some recruiting to get the best return to the organization.

The "better then average" do not usually look back after leaving, as they have no need to do so.

Hopefully, the Adkins teams will return the organization to the way it was before the changes.

There is some good feedback out here today.

Let me first of all clear up any confusion. There are not TWO Texas Glory organizations. Kevin Shelton and I are not at odds in any way. We have talked numerous times this week and our relationship is as good as it hs ever been through the 9 years since we started Texas Glory. We simply have a difference in philosophy but are going to continue to move forward. The Glory Adkins teams will ultimately feed the Glory Adkins Gold team. These teams will adhere to the same procedures and each work hard and focus on quality and not quantity. Kevin Shelton has Tracy Beard, Ed Naudin and Richard Wines as well as some younger teams that will continue to feed his gold team. The other Glory teams that are out there today will stay as they are until they age or get in the Shelton pipeline.

When you look at the website at www.texasglory.com and you look at the accomplishments listed you will find that with the exception of Thomas Flanigan and his 10-U ASA National Championship ALL other coaches...Kyle Strickland, Rick Drummond, Richard Simpson, Phillip McCloud, Peter Roos, Kevin Shelton and Dan Adkins are all right here, still in a Glory hat and coaching Glory teams. Again, while I am proud of our past accomplishments, I certainly look forward to our future ones. On the field and in college commitments.
