Very true. I was just using them as an example since those are usually the names I hear first.
Team New Jersey is a huge tourney for exposure, but only if you are willing to consider going to schools on the Eastern Seaboard
Or big schools like Northwestern, DePaul, Florida, UCF, TN, etc.
Vegas, pretty good but mostly small schools from the west.
I don't consider AZ, Florida State, Fresno, GA Tech, LMU, SDSU, Stanford, TX A&M, or VT small schools from the west.
Colorado...unless your playing Boulder where the gold teams AND COACHES go you are also wasting your money.
While I agree that the hierarchy of the CO tournaments are Indy, Fireworks, then Sparkler, that has got to be close to striking gold as a coach. Like you said, if you've done your homework, you have a good shot being seen that week. At least 400 or 500 teams full of recruiting age girls all within 45 minutes of each other.
My point to all of this was that you hear players, parents, and coaches talking about big DI schools, but are on teams that won't qualify for Nationals or aren't willing to travel/make the commitment to the big tournaments. Perfect example, TX A&M had approx 4 players (that I know of) verbal in their sophomore year. So that means Coach Evans was watching them their freshman year and the summer between frosh/soph. That's this year for the 93's & 94's. Are the coaches & players ready? Most of them I would say no.
Sorry for derailing the OP. It just came out since I've heard so many people saying they are choosing not to qualify because 14 Nationals are in Midland.
