These are teams that were at the top in their group last year and have either stayed together or combined pieces.

Texas Heat 99 - Houston (mix of Cobras, TPS and Kingwood Edge)
Kruzers 99 - Dallas
D-bat Black Sox - Dallas
99 Texas Bombers - Central Texas
Pearland Phantomz - Houston (if they are still one unit - the Houston guys would know)
99 Roughriders - Dallas

From Louisiana

Cenla Heat 99

There are several other teams that have reloaded so not sure where they are at this point. A little too early in the season to tell. Also, it would depend on whether you are allowing 98 players on the 99 teams (if you are splitting the age groups), as this would affect some of the teams. I do believe however the ones listed above are pure 99 teams.

From Central Texas, in addition to the Bombers, I'd add:

99 Texas Slam
99 Austin Stars

Is this on the same weekend as the Bomber Shootout in New Braunfels?

Just to update those interested, we are still in the process of securing the best possible venue we can. Therefore the date may change. Thanks again for all your input, we look to have everything in stone and an invite list put together by the end of Nov.

Today we finalized the date and venue for this huge event. The weekend of May 6th in Longview TX. Longview has eight of the nicest fields you'll ever play on, its a great venue for girls softball. Now we will finish the the diligent task of tournament structure and invite list. Please continue to contact me if your interested in playing or if you have contact info for any other worthy teams.

Thanks,

Rick W.

If you are looking at the top 98's from NTX, an issue you may run into is that because 12U is looking to be a tad "watered down" in 2011, some of the top 12U's are playing 14U only unless it's a national qualifier. Having said that, IMO, these are the best strictly 98 12U's in NTX but you wouldn't know it since you probably won't see them. There are other good teams in NTX of course but they'll be more visible since they will be playing 12U tournaments. The short list below are teams you may not want to forget about.

98 Dbat Allen
98 Fusion
98 Fireballs
98 Pride
