How will the 14U Texas teams do against the 16U Ok teams

by bigdaddy48 » Mon Apr 28, 2008 7:28 pm

Just so all ya Tx folks know the oklahoma Smoke is a 14u team. We took 5 94's from TnT Black and 5 93's from Express and combined them after nationals last year. We had a couple of 92's with us to help while some of our others 93's get well. We will see ya'll in Odessa Tx for 14u A nationals.

See Ya.......

Some left, I guess 4th wasen't good enough for them but adding the 93's will help alot. This makes our infield really tough, the team we had in Mckinney minus the 3 92's will be tough. We have the the top two pitchers from TnT plus two more 93's, we played really good in Mckinney. That Tx Travelers were really tough great bunch of people great girls tough game with them. We went into extra inning's with them getting one and us getting two. There were alot of great 14u talent there should be fun in Odessa. We want another shot at Lakewood......

Sad to hear that the team split but the pitchers you have are definatley top notch. Hope to see your team back in Texas soon.

I was watching part of the game that knocked Rapid Fire out of the tournament. They were playing the OK Babes. It was a 1-0 game. From what I saw Rapid Fire got a few hits but couldn't seem to score. The Babes only had one hit while I was there and that led to their run. The Babes had their tallest of the pitchers pitching-which she threw well but not blazing fast and Rapid Fire had a lefty pitching who the same thing threw well but wasn't spectacular. Overall it was a pretty well played game from both teams.

Lori is notorious on this board for not knowing what she is talking about.

The Fusion were dropped into the loser's bracket by the Traveler's (Splash) and eliminated by Glory (Elliott) in a close game. The Rapid Fire lost to the Traveler's and the OK Babes, where were dropped into the loser's bracket by the Freedom in a great game by both teams. The Glory '94 were dropped into the loser's bracket by the American Freedom and eliminated by the OK Badside. The Freedom lost to the OK Smoke, who went on to win tournament, in a game that could have gone either way; otherwise, the Freedom finish no worse than 3rd. The Anderson Express beat the Glory (Elliott) and then blew a big lead to the OK Badside in the last inning; otherwise, the Express finish no worse than 3rd. The Traveler's went extra innings with the OK Smoke in the last game of the winner's bracket.

In otherwords, in 14u, there were no surprises. There are at least 10 teams that can beat anyone on any given Sunday. It is going to be a wild summer in North Texas, and I suspect that no team will consistently dominate.
