I can't speak for all the Houston teams out there, but again IMO this tournament is not a big deal. It's way over hyped and at this time, it's just not worth the expense to travel to this tournament. As riseball put it, there are bigger fish to fry coming up in May and June.
As for being scared to play local teams in that area, I'm confident when I say that this is not the case. So you can put a wrap on that accusation.
For all the talk about Houston and other So. Texas teams, my argument is this:
Look back at the most recent finishes at the 14u USA/ASA National Tournament and you'll find that while not always finishing at the top, Houston and other So. Texas teams are finishing higher than most other teams from around Texas....so they must be doing something right.
That said, I wish those that attend the Bomber's Tournament a great time and let's try and keep the focus on the teams that are playing in it. A top finish here would just be another notch in the belt...but one that the top finishing teams can be proud of.
