Top Ten 14u team starting in 2010 DFW

by oklbos » Mon Nov 02, 2009 4:07 pm

With the end of the season fast approaching, and many of the dominant 14u teams getting ready to lose many of their best players, does anyone have predictions on the best 14u teams for the spring? For DFW only. Just curious. I am fairly new to this.

I think most good 14U teams who have older players would probably just move up since there going to be playing 16U anyway instead of losing players. That is if they are worth keeping...

I definitely think you're right. The very best of the true (95's-96's)14U are already playing 16U. I can't imagine that many 94's were playing 14U this fall. Of the ones who have been playing in 14U this fall (whether or not they are really 14U 95-96 teams) I've been pretty impressed with:

96AXE
Texas Trouble (Clay)
Attitude 95-Mansfield

There are several others, but these seem to be pretty consistent and not necessarily using a lot of pick-up players.

There are several other teams out there that could be could be competitive, but pitching seems to spread pretty thin. You seem to find an occasional team that has one strong pitcher that can compete for a while. But, as soon as you get further into the brackets, they drop out. I would expect to see some shuffling over the winter break as coaches and players start looking again.

Trouble?
Axe??????
Attitude???

Those are basically avg teams that don't come close to:

Elite
Glory
Glory
Fusion
Fusion
D-bat
D-bat

Of course the best 14u out there are the Kruzers.

For the most part I'd agree, but I think that all but maybe one or two of those teamsare playing 16U. I kinda qualified it with teams that are playing in the 14U tournaments. But, in general, I would agree that if most of the ones you listed above played in their true age bracket they would annihilate the competition.

Sometimes I really miss the 95 Glory/95 Travelers trash talk.
So what if it's a degree from Bugtussle State College...she's playing D1 ball!

Thats why we play the tournaments. Takes all the talking and fence coaching out of it. ;)

I didn't know they had. She's very good. Any idea where she went?
