With the runner up to the big show going on in DFW, does anyone care to step out and predict the top 3?

I would put Gateway dead last on the list of prospective hosts...the place is a dump and I would (and have ) guarded my children w/ my life there after dark. I would also say the umpire association that runs Gateway is one of the worst in DFW."
Just curious where in Tarrant County you think are the true fastpitch facilities, and what is your beef with Gateway umpires?

Keller, Southlake and Mansfield (as of the last couple of years) all have nice facilities in Tarrant, Flower Mound borders Tarrant, all are better facilities than Gateway. All of these actually maintain their facilities more than once a tournament and will also make sure the grass is mowed before the tournament starts.
The umpire crew is not terrible as a whole but you get a little of very good and a lot of extremely bad. There is no middle ground it seems.

If Keller, Southlake and Mansfield want to host a National Tournament, why don't they submit their bid just like the City of Fort Worth does every year? Your right these Cities have the facilities. Gotcher and Brenda do a great job for the City of Fort Worth in hosting a National tournament. Lucky for them they have the City of Fort Worth on their team. They must meet with City officials and work with them to get the tournament brought to Fort Worth. Wonder if other ASA board members work as closely with their city parks and rec departments.
If any other City in the Metroplex submitted their bid to ASA, it wouldn't be long before more Nationals were played here and on better fields as you put it. Probably would even make the City of Fort Worth update their fields due to the competition of attracting larger tournaments.

[/quote]Good idea! The problem is that WE HAVE SUBMITTED OUR BIDS. Those bids go through FWASA and since we compete w/ Gateway, guess who gets the bid!!!
And as for Grubbs and Gotcher hosting good events...I'll bite my tongue. Same with the umpiring crew...they were just recently dismissed from North Richland Hills so I guess they'll make their last stand at Ghettoway.
