:?: Looking for recommendations on facilities or individuals that provide speed and conditioning training specific to soft ball. (Both individual and team training.)

It seems D BAT IS THE D-1 CONNECTION SO IM SURE THEY CAN HELP WITH SPEED & CONDITIONING IN THEIR ULTRA NEW D-1 INDOOR TRANING COMPLEX.
WITH SPEED THEY WILL HAVE ALL YOUR MONEY & YOUR WALLET WILL BE WELL CONDITIONED FROM REACHING IN IT SO OFTEN.

I agree with mstreet, Zoom is a great workout at all levels. Zoom has experience in working with some good softball teams. In two and a half weeks I have seen an enormous improvement in quickness, speed and flexability in our team.

Been to Zoom and Velocity, and Zoom is better at focusing in particular areas. Improved running form to be a lot faster, core strength to be more agyle on defense and more powerful on offense. Jim is the owner and John is the head trainer and girls like him.

They are conveniently located at Hwy 121 and the DNT.

Doug-I just sent you an email

Not yet mentioned...
Michael Johnson Performance Center right next to Craig Ranch is another option.

We've used Michael Johnson Performance in the summer and it was pretty good. They did some good video work/analysis on sprinting to maximize her speed. And also did some quality weight training in the program. Not sure how it compares on cost to others, but it was not super cheap.

It is relatively expensive.

These places are fun and I think can point athletes and coaches in the right direction. The reality though is that conditioning is a full time deal. Without diet and dedication you can send your kids to as many facilities as you want and you'll never see the desired results. If you're spending a few minutes at your weekly practice doing speed, agility, & conditioning drills but not ensuring they are being reinforced throughout the week, you may as well spend that few minutes working on softball fundamentals instead.

If I remember correctly, Johnson was not a big plyometric guy. This may not be the case at his facility as MJP does administer SPARQ related training...not sure. I do know that Zoom places a pretty heavy emphasis on plyometric training though.
