Bombers Gold Roster Looks Like a Winner

by 93players » Sun Aug 30, 2009 9:24 pm

Congrats to Scott and the Bombers for assembling a powerhouse in South Central Texas. Picking up a Texas commitment for the catcher and the best South Texas pitcher is great for the program. Quite a change from the old Bombers where the coaching was influenced by too much, too early juice. The old screaming tantrums have been replaced by a smart focus on speed and a new brand of game not dependent on 6 foot Amazons. The Bomber teams will get some serious looks and commitments in the coming years. They are keeping their players and adding some gems.

Yea , this team looks very very good! Adding the talent that they did to an already very good team that just got back from Gold Nationals is kinda scary! Adding Donnie's daughter to this team gives them a very good pitching staff! I have watched Scott coach for years and he has grown as a coach more than any other in our area! I think he is one of the better coaches out there. The way his team plays is certainly a testimony to how hard those kids work! Two "State Championships" for kids out of that program , Gold Nationals and three out four 2010's get D1 scholarships that is a great start for this program....they have a ton of young talent on this team as well!

I can attest to Scott's program. My daughter was in the bomber program last year at a younger level but Scott was my daughters hitting coach and the way he interacted with her and got her really thinking about what she was trying to accomplish and not just teaching her how to swing the bat was amazing. The way he coaches his girls is the way I try and immulate at all sports that I coach. I am very proud to know him and to have been associated with him and hope in 3-4 years my daughter will have the privaledge to be coached by him again. Scott keep up the good work it is very appreciated.

Scott is a great coach and has assembled a tough team for the coming season. His team has been a powerhouse in Central TX for the last several years. I have always enjoyed watching him interact with his girls. He seems to get the best from them every time I have watched them play.
I think what is even more amazing is how successful the younger teams in the program have become. It looks like Scott has transformed the whole program. There was a time when this program would boast about their top finishes at USFA and now they are qualifying for ASA at all age groups. The Black team and the 96 team are very tough. My DD's team played against the 96 team last year a couple times and they have no quit in them. I was at 16U Nats watching my niece and the Black team can flat out hit. It looks like the Bomber Gold will have plenty of talent to choose from in the coming years.

Looks like the Blaze and Bombers are going to battle for the top talent in the area. Should be fun to watch.
