Are the Houston Power a Team of the Past?

by 93players » Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:48 pm

Not much discussion on this board about this organization. Great recruiting history in the past. Not much lately. Top team did well at gold nationals. Second gold team not much to show. 16U, qualified for ASA A but 3 and BBQ. 14U, qualified but 2 and BBQ. With 5 million people in Houston, why are they not better?

So they qualified ASA Nationals at:

18G

16's

14's

- and you are asking if they are a 'team of the past'???

Looks to me like they did just fine in 2009.

(I have no affiliation with the Power organization)
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

What I saw this past spring looked pretty good to me. I got to see them at the ASA qualifier in Humble and I was impressed with the quality of their team. I thought they were living up to their reputation.

Think HP will be just fine, in the future. They did just as good or better then other clubs. How many other clubs in Texas has been consistent for 15 years or more.

At least they qualified at Gold and 16u, oh and let's see, did was team Demarini qualify Gold? Uhhhh, no! But they are "elite 48", they don't have to qualify anymore. They are really special, not. Go Power!

I was thinking the same thing I mean since when is it a bad thing for three of your 4 age groups to make nationals. Weather they did well at nationals or not atleast they made it.
I was at the 16u tryouts yesterday and heard that the 14u returned 7 players including 2 pitchers from last years team. The 16u added some speed and depth to the team. So it's not looking up for the Power this year. Well I hope they have another bad year....
93 player dont bring all your drama from north texas down here its too early.
