All softball parents are praying for her speedy recovery.

Heard she is fine. Apparently her glove deflected some of the impact. 1B not so lucky and broker her ankle.

The good news is: pain heals, chicks (boys in this case) dig scars, glory lasts forever.

4A Birdville HS beat the 5th place, nationally ranked, 5A Bowie, 1-0.

I wouldnt read too much into that loss by bowie.


bowie had a bad game, as we are all entitled to have...chalk it up as that and nothing else.

I know we aren't that top tier 4A team, but couldn't help getting a little excited! That was a big win for the girls.

And being #1 state ranked and #5 nationally ranked, everyone is going to brag a little when they beat you. Just comes with the bullseye.

Did the 1st base player break her ankle on the final play? BTW Congrats on a textbook game against a tough team and pitcher. I like the writeup on the Birdville High Softball site. Great team motto "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins Championships."

Thanks for asking about our injuries... Pitcher is fine... slight skin abrasion above eyebrow...
(We have had "close calls" like this before...)
1B did not break ankle... but did have bad sprain and is in cast for 2 weeks and then we will see... Her injury came in pool play on Friday.
No one on Bowie team should feel bad about this game, both teams played hard and it is well known Blaire Luna is an outstanding pitcher and if you look back at the stats there were allot of "zeros" on those inning postings... Being a "Pitcher's Dad" it was an exciting game! For everyone.
Congratulations for what the Bulldogs have accomplished and what they will accomplish this year... they are a great team! We hope to see you guys again...
