Our team qualified then had to give up its berth due to a High School tournament.

Predictions on 1st place anyone?
My prediction is Oklahoma Force '94.

Why does this tournament have so many Texas and Georgia teams?
Oklahoma only recieves 2 berths. Is it due to the total amount of ASA teams in Texas and Georgia? I know Oklahoma ASA is almost dead. Maybe only 25 teams registered in 16U.

Your team gave up a berth for high school ball with a 38% chance (pre-draw) of making it to ASA Nats??? And your hs coach is still breathing?

You are going to see TX teams due to location. OKC is only 3 hours from the DFW area. There are still many SE teams that want to play ASA, hence their participation. The CA teams are gone because they play Premier. Eventually, I think we will see a dividing year(s) when the level of competition dwindles and the demographic changes. 2010? 2011?

You may want to vent to your coach who f'd it up for "the girls" by not picking up the phone and finding out for herself. In the business world, we call it "covering all bases". Good managers don't let opportunities slip away.

What say you?

If I am an anus, then we must be related cause you a butthole, Joe. Nice that you gave us your two cents worth. Your probly looking for change.

I do not disagree with what you stated, but still, you have got to admit that it takes about 2 or 3 minutes to make a phone call and it is only right that the next teams in line should get first crack, even if they placed tied for fifth 3monkeys!

We had to give up the berth due to having 5 girls on the team from the same school who are still competing for a starting position.
This did not sit to well with the 5 other girls who's coaches were willing to let them miss for the HOF. These girls also have started since they were freshmen. So missing a summer tourney was no big deal.

We didn't like missing out on the HOF Qualifier as it is a tougher tourny to get into than ASA/USA Nationals. Oklahoma gets 10 berths to Nationals. Only 2 to the HOF. We were not going to ASA Nationals anyway.

It was a tough decision to skip the HOF but I think it was the right one for these 5 girls who haven't conquered high school ball yet. We never even asked the HS coach.
