DD had her last pitching lesson last week. Premier Nationals this week then College. I'm frightened to clean out the garage! The 20 composite bats, the 10 bags! Etc. Do I get my life back, watch DS at Swimming Nationals or find a place in Houston to coach?
All suggestions welcome.
I will pick up College games where possible. But if I haunt local softball tournaments will they think I'm one of those Craigslist guys? OMIGOSH!

coach. coach somewhere, LL, JV, Varsity, someplace with no drama (lol) - notice i didn't recommend travel ball. teach kids about sportsmanship and team, respect, teammates, etc., kids need this desperately and there is a spot for you somewhere in the chain. that's my .02 worth.

Take a couple months off & then look around for a 'prestigious' small or mid 'all girls school' with a losing record. Accept the position as 'head coach' & build the programe. You will enjoy the outcome.
I didn't have a DD or Grand DD playing at the time but 5 yrs ago I decided to 'retire' from travelball because of players/parents 'attitudes' (& also age). After 2 months, my friends talked me into 'staying involved' & I found a small high school with a 6w & 9L record. 10 Frosh, 1 Soph & 1 Jr was my 1st roster. It has been a JOY & Pleasure watching the girls gain experience & receiving college offers/scholarships (U of Iowa, Yale (& 5-6 other Ivy schools), Boston College, Bos U & many others.
Look me up at Premire Nationals next week & we can talk.
Have fun.

I agree. I took on a small school JV team a few years back and it was the best coaching experience I have had.

Ok I'm in the same boat except we are going to Premier, but working the 8 to 5 grind how do you throw in helping coach a JV high school team?
