8) FW Batbusters (Card)

It went by the book first you go by runs allowes ,If you have a tie then you go by runs scored.
sure would have liked to play the losers bracket out there were some teams in that bracket that were just getting warmed up.
This was the post from the TD on another board.

Might not have thrown your third pitcher against the team you were going to kill anyway! Seriously, this whole thing was a joke and ASA should be ashamed.

The Bombers absolutely deserve and earned their berth over this summer. But really? The Hitaway and Traveler's Huddleston? Neither team has come anywhere near qualifying in any other qualifier. They were nowhere near qualifying in this one either. The Hitaway were getting slaughtered by the Lady Stros when the rain came Sunday, but that suddenly doesn't matter to the tournament director.

An embarrassment to Texas ASA!

So..... I take it your DD's team is on the outside looking in?
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

We were waiting to play the game after the Hitaway/Stros game and I don't think that 1-0 in the 2nd inning is a "slaughter"

I was told by the TD that Hitaway didn't allow a run in the any 3 games that were completed and that the Bombers and Travelers each allowed a total of one. Thats pretty solid to me.....

I think Brooke's Dad nailed it. You are on the outside looking in.

Its OK TxFastPitch.......you can watch it live on the internet (Like me) :D :D

The ASA Commissioner from Houston being allowed to quit in the middle of a tournament and allow the "other" Impact team to qulaify is a joke. They are now going to "cherry pick" the two teams rosters and allow girls that didn't qualify to go to ASA Gold Nationals. The man who is in
charge of the Impact Gold organization is the Houston Metro ASA commissioner for Pete's sake. I understand that just a few years ago, a team from the same park that Impact plays out of (Spring Klein) did the SAME thing and Spring Klein tossed them on the ear for it.

The runs allowed rule has been in place for years.

I agree with most, everyone would have liked to see the tournament finish out. I understand there were fields in Houston that would have been happy to accomodate the teams. Unfortunately, rosters, entry forms and fees were due today in the Gold ASA office. Doesn't leave any room in getting the tournament finished in cases like this. Given that they were scheduling from 800am to 1030/1100pm with start times, they could have (should have???) started on THURSDAY to get it done (or maybe even early Friday morning). Important tournaments like these really should have a "rain day" built in on Sunday. Most major tournaments have some wiggle room for this type of situation.

BUt I also agree that ASA has a clearly defined way of deciding who wins the berths in these situations. If you didn't read the rules......    .

Playing in Beaumont is not a smart idea this time of year. They were just lucky that there wasn't a hurricane passing over.

1-0 is a slaughter? Doesn't leave much room for you to have a definition for a close game.

Then what would the game between the Bombers and the CC Panthers be called. As I recall it was 8-0 Bombers in the second.... :o :o :o :o :o :o
