Yeah people answer the real question and not the facts you were diggin for. Seriously though you had to be really asking just to get a good feeling before going into tryouts. You say

High School tryouts are starting up

...you think your going to make significant changes in your DDs times now? If you were really serious about HS softball you would have looked at this info last year, in "Your" school.

Just to clear a few things up:

I am not concerned about my DD's playing time AT ALL.

Did not mean to ask an offensive question as I have only been on HB a short time and was not aware this was asked repeatedly.

Was only asking this out of curousity and want to thank those that answered factually.

I assume your kid's a freshman, here, at our school, people dont go to the practices or attend the tryouts. I did go to the tryouts and I'm glad I did, I was the only one - I suggest you do the same, even if dd asks you not to. Go there and try not to be seen by your dd.

Have not gone to practices, have come a few minutes early and watched the end of their practice. And another school in our area where some of my t/b kids go, nearly every parent attended every practice.

I think it was an excellent question. Don't let the "HB cliques" discourage you. I would like to see what high school speeds are around the US, also. Just wish you would've had more replies as to actual speeds. If you have a question then ask it. Take the info that you like and throw the trash away. Good luck to your dd.

bats, those things are good to know - but not for h/s ball - look them up in the recruiting camps, http://www.NFCA.Org are the ones I know about, but forget the 14 y/o stuff, you need to look at 18 y/o because thats who you are competing against. Thats also the reason I push 14 y/o (8th graders and up) that are around here to play 18u - if h/s is what you are interested in, and most of us texans are at first, play 18u for sure, and 18g wouldnt hurt. Sorry for my lack of patience - and fats, its cliques not Click. Bats, wait until your kids are older, then come and look back at these posts.

I agree. I'm no spring chicken, myself. Believe it or not, I'm actually easy to get along with too. Just don't ask my wife that. Besides, I can tell you are tougher than I am anyway.
