Rootingforsis I have to agree with everything you said especially the upper classmen part I just hope Its not to the point that my dd wants to quit. By the way are any Heybucket people going to the High School Tourney in Roundrock the 9-10 of Jan.

Yep - I will be there coaching the TM Cherokees.

My toes are big, but unfortunately 2 of the 10 are broken, so come shake my hand, stay off the toes.

Cant wait to see how we stand up to the big teams - hopefully we will get placed in a strong bracket.

If this were travel I would have similar feelings if it were me BUT.....HS tournaments I have no choice but to hope for an weak bracket when it comes to DD's school team. That is unless I'm not feeling well and really want to go home early

Lefty, dont know if you saw my post but I pulled our team out of the RR tournament. Too cold for our bats, too cold for our kids, and too cold for this old wuss. We played one like this in NB a few years ago and it took a while for the kids to recover, and we ruined two bats - this one looks to be colder than the one we played in some years back - wasnt fun. Plus, our girls here dont have 'winter' gear, some kids have some winter stuff from their bi-annual ski trips but that stuff is a little awkward to play softball in. Disappointing, I had hoped to get us in this tournament for several years and I hope to get us in it next year.

We will hope for next year, but we lost 5 seniors this year - very good athletes too. And we are hearing rumors of moving down to 3A next year, which is going to be pretty strong next year.
