So, there's been a few tournaments and such happening around the state, so what's everyone seeing out there? Who's improved? And if you're brave, who has not? My DD's team has not competed yet (Twisters 18U) but will be in a friendly this weekend, followed by the exposure camp at Ben Davis, then on to St. Louis.

Gators Classic 16U two weeks ago, Xtreme looked decent, Gators looked decent Blast96 looked decent, and one of the Terror team, don't recall whether it was Diamond Terror or just Terror.

It has been quiet concerning teams. I think there are some good teams again this year.

I think (which doesnt mean a whole lot)
18u
Indy Dreams Lewis are good
Gators Gold are still good

16u
Shockwaves93 - until someone beats the top dog, they still are the one.
Xplosion 93 - should be good

14u
Blast
Shockwaves Ramsey

Dreams Reese beat Shockwaves93 at ISU last weekend, and not the first time either! New dog in town!

Twisters were at the "umpire training" scrimmages in Avon this weekend. Only had 8 players (and thanks to the Shockwaves for lending an outfielder!). Shockwaves and Gators both looked good as usual. Twisters still learning how the new girls will fit in, but it looks promising. DD had a good day - two hits, a walk, a steal, two runs, and some great catches in the outfield made at a full run. She appears to be playing with more confidence this year. Last year as a 15 year old playing 18U she was tentative sometimes being one of two "freshmen" on the team. Nice to see her stepping up.

Looking forward to seeing some great softball at this weekend's Akadema Showcase. Looks like some strong teams so if the weather holds out, it will be a competitive weekend.

You never know this time of year, but "window shopping" is usually done in the summer and fall is for final looks. Nobody on the list coming from too far except Southern Miss and UMKC. Probably most from out of state are targeting one or two specific players. With cold temps and soggy fields from rain forecasted for Wed, Thur, and Fri, don't look for coaches to spend alot of time wandering around looking. It will be:
1) watch prospect
2) schmooze prospect
3) schmooze mom and dad
4) look for someplace warm!

They videotaped everything, and I'm certain follow-up training was required based on some of the calls I saw.
