New year, I guess, and my intent is to list who the better Indiana teams are. The best way to do that IMHO is to list who won or was runner-up in recent tournaments. In April I'll start all over again.

Instead of arbitrarily saying the winter indoor season started Jan. 1, when indoor tournaments here started last November, I've updated this list to include indoor tournaments held in Indiana, and these are Indiana teams that won or were runner-up. Some out of state teams placed in the top 2 also but this is about Indiana teams.

If there are any Indiana teams who placed 1 or 2 in any tournament outside of the state from Nov. 1 to now, please speak up and join this list if you're not already on it.

ManitouDan,

My DD's team (Indiana Twist) will be at this tournament. I'll look for you. We have played the Summit City Thunder and Indy Rebels before. The Indy Rebels are a solid team with three pitchers that throw hard. From what I have seen Team Indiana is a very good program also. I'm not very familiar with the other teams.

I agree that this should be a good tournament. Hopefully we get to play several of the teams that we have never met before. Usually we get paired with teams that we run into at every tournament.

Bring tennis shoes and cleats. The turf at the Dome is different than anything I have seen before. Fairly long artificial grass blades with (what looks like) ground up rubber granules raked (?) into it which gives it some cushion. Have your girls try both types of footware to see which they like.

If you have early games (first one or two) it might be a little chilly depending on how cold it is outside but it warms up nicely.

thanks for the info . I'll more than likely have on a purple Wild Thangs pull over jacket with KATIE # 4 on it. I don't know much about any of the teams. Riptide was a 10u team we saw a few times last year. Young team with good athelets just getting their feet wet in travel. But who knows what they might have this year.

We have 2 girls that throw on the hard side of average for a 12u I'd guess. One was pretty dominate last year at the 10u level but has not played 12u before. The other was our # 3 arm from last year who is now 12 . At this point since I have not set on the bucket with them don't know who is more ready. Just hope they throw strikes. They should but when you have'nt played for 5-6 months it might take some time to get in a groove.

Last year our 10u team got beat in the finals in ITB after the pitcher I mentioned got injured in the late innings. Ours 12's went either 1-2 or 2-2 , I can't remember, we were new to the team and my kid set the bench most of the games (I played the part of fuming but quiet parent LOL) After that tourney she spent the rest of the year at the leadoff spot. I know we lost to the Munster Magic and Indy shockwaves or thunder . We barely beat some rec ball team . It was ugly . Actually we won 80% of our games after that. We were just shell shocked, the girls did'nt know each other , pitchers were struggling. We threw 2 girls before discovering our # 3 was really our # 1 . Was a great opportunity to see where we stood. MD

Indiana Magic will be there. We're supposed to get the brackets from the coach this Saturday.

Coolstuff,

I am guessing that your DD plays for the Indiana Magic. How many times have our teams (Magic and Twist) played each other in the last two years? It has to be at least ten times!
