I heard this happened...did it?...anyone know?

by INBLUE » Tue Jul 05, 2011 9:37 am

10 & Under tournament this past week-end. I believe at HSE. Bottom of last inning. 2 outs. Bases loaded. Batter walked. Batter-runner never touched first base on the walk and went into dug-out. Supposed winning run from third crosses plate. Visiting team appealed and protested that batter-runner never touched first base and entered dead ball territory. Thus nullifing winning run. Appeal and/or protest not held up. Any one hear of this? Again I heard this 2nd hand. Just wondering.

Wow the player touched first but it sounded good to make people think you lost on a rule.

Sometimes you just have to accept defeat. We teach our children to believe we simply did not lose and the other team is better than us. We see what we want and never believe we just lost.

I was there and she did touch first and started to celebrate. :ugeek: :o

Wo Wo Wo. "softballnut75" . You need to re-read the post, before you start typing. (A) I never stated "I" or "We" lost on a rule......my daughter is not even in that age group & we were not there (again please re-read post).....(B) before you start telling or suggesting I learn how to accept defeat you had better start to know me. (C) quit with the holier than thou statement "we teach our children", you have no idea what I teach my children.

If you were there and it happened as you state. Congrats. Like the post stated "I Heard". It was a simply question. Perhaps the response of defending should leave us to question. Hmmmmmmmm

I saw this in a 12U Rec game and laughed because the 1st base coach told the kid to stop and sent her to the dugout... it was the right call and the head coach about went crazy
If you are going to hit it, HIT IT HARD...... No Excuses
