Let me add a slightly different take. The "Showcase" was a joke, and from what I heard, many teams won't be back next year. No matter where you are, there seems to be a weird club of egomaniacs that work together to decide which teams and which girls are worthy of exposure. Wasn't hard to figure out who belonged to the club in Indy. A handful of so-called "Gold" teams were given prime fields and game times, while 16U and 18U teams that paid the same amount of money and, in many cases, were every bit as talented, were treated like 2nd class citizens. These teams are also seeking exposure, yet were given games 4 or 5 hours apart and at times when fewer coaches were present. They were also forced to play on the ridiculous turf field, and the final slap in the face for a lot of teams I talked to was being forced to play at a pathetic middle school field miles away from any coaches. Speaking of coaches, where were they? Didn't see many. And the $15 gate fee was pretty steep. The organizers of this tournament better get their act together or good luck getting half as many teams or coaches to show up next year!

I think everyone has an opinion I think dan has done a great job for Indy with this tourney and has already made plans to change the layout.We had teams playing in the premier at the middle school and coaches that we contacted had no problem showing also had plenty of coaches at midwest this weekend talking with our kids . We have been to the big tourneys like st louis and they have a huge amount of teams and coaches but it comes down to you contacting coaches and they have to show its not enough just to play . I again thank Dan for working hard for our teams in Indiana

Our team had college coaches at every game this weekend and we played at 5pm Friday and 8am Sunday. We even had a coach watch us warm up in the dark at 7am Sunday! Granted, we didn't play at the off-site field and we had our best attendance at 5pm on one of the center fields, but our kids did their job in contacting coaches with our schedule ahead of time and those coaches were there watching. These college coaches don't often just stumble across games blindly at exposure events hoping to find players; most often players are seen by coaches they have contacted or by coaches watching their game who were there watching another player who had contacted them. I agree with Mark, this event went pretty well if your players did their part.

I thought the tournament was an excellent venue for the teams that played in it with plenty of coaches from throughout the midwest and beyond...?? we did have some down time between games on Saturday (9:30am and 5:00pm), but that's very reasonable compared to alot of tournaments.!
