I need your input on outfield glove size

by mfdad » Sat Aug 07, 2010 1:00 pm

New to the site so go easy on me (haha). Daughter recently began playing travel ball this year after Rec ball was over in Rec ball she played 3rd was one of the better 3rd baseman in the Rec league (I know travel ball and rec league is much different) She is currently playing outfield (which I am fine with as long as she has fun) my question is what size glove is a good size glove for a outfielder she plays 10u ball right now. She has a 11 inch glove now that worked great for her in the infield, any thought about this would be greatly apprecatied.

Both my girls really like the fit of the Mizuno gloves. My oldest is an OF and wears a 13....she is 13 and is 5'6 135. My youngest is 10 is 4'10 75 lbs wears a 12...Her hand is nearly as big as the 13 but she is not nearly as strong...both catch flies very well......No one size fits all answer

My DD splits time in IF and OF. I've tried to get her new gloves for either. She insists on keeping her 12" cheapie Easton that she's used for the last 7 years. It's junk, but she loves it. As an added bonus, it seems to field just as well as the high end gloves.

IMO a 12inch glove would be a good choice. Buy it soon and ur daughter will have plenty of time to break it in before spring. If she won't use the 12inch glove, it is ok, she will need it in the future if she continues to play softball. Good luck to you and urs.
