Wind and pitching

by lumpy » Fri Apr 30, 2010 9:10 am

A couple of years ago, I was watching a softball game on TV and they were discussing pitches used for windy conditions. In particular, throwing a rise or drop into the wind. It seems one pitch works better with the wind at a pitchers back and the other pitch works better into the wind. I'm just curious if anyone can help me out on this question. I remember they talked like this was common knowledge but I can't remember the answer to the question. At my age, I'm lucky enough to remember the question.
