Aw shucks c'mon B.L. We all are good ol boys on here. Heck no was i ever ruffled. Just recon woke up on wrong side of my hay stack. Alli Mae makin it hard on me as gots to chase off them young whipper snappers away so we can play a little stick ball. Slopping the hogs, feed'n the dogs and hoping to go fetch me a critter sometime if the snow quit a flyi'n.

On a serious side, hope all survives the high school season and I would like to wish everyone a safe and great year of softball. Lets try to get them young ladies looked at so they can fulfill their dreams. Everyone good luck and god bless.

PS: I think you will fit in just fine Brad.
and I am trying to keep up with the Jones's

Well Bucketboy, I don’t know if Tennessee is far enough South for this rule, but I learned about five years ago when I broke down in Cullman, Alabama (AKA Deliverance, Alabama), that when you were addressing three or less people, it was, y’all. Anything more than three was you’uns. Hope this helps.
Good luck to all the girls in their school seasons and their summer sessions. I hope and pray that no one get seriously injured. Let’s hope the eligible girls get a good look from the college they want to attend and they work hard enough in school to make it an easier decision for the coaches.

Spazsdad brings up a good point about benching a player for behavior...but in the 5 years of my daughter and I being involved in travel ball, I cannot recall a girl removed from the field by a coach for unsportsmanlike behavior(lack of effort, yes)...I would hope that was an isolated incident...however, justathought1 reports seeing several in 6 years.

Bucketboy, you never know where a post might go...you asked about Indiana signings and it developed into a shoving match in the 16u weight class...I've got to go shovel snow now...I cannot wait for the Girls of Summer to begin tournament play.

When is "all y'all" appropriate?

I agree with that. I've seen players lose their temper, and the coach sits 'em to get them to cool off and get their head back in the game. But as far as anything else, no.

coolstuff you make a good point, and before I posted, you had already posted. I feel that any behavior on the filed that is negative (not agreeing with an umpire call, rolling eyes and reacting to a coach directives, ect.) is all unsportsmanlike for the sport. If none of you other guys have not seen this type of behavior, have not watched much softball. I have seen this on other teams also, the difference is alot of teams do not take any action.

I appologize da60 I thought this subject was in results of some post about winter tournaments and not Indiana signee's. As far as I am concerned, I have not seen the shoving match going on by 16-U. Just a mis-information being posted about a team they know little about.

This is my last post...

Thanks, and good luck to you all.

There was no "mis-information " on my part, and I know the team well.

Justathought1(Michael)...sorry, forgot which post I was viewing when I posted earlier...had been up since 5:00 am shoveling snow out of the driveway(just finished shoveling it again for the 4th time since yesterday)...anyway, we just have a difference of opinion on unsportsmanlike behavior...I promise you a player rolling their eyes will always get yanked, same as lack of effort(but I do not consider that unsportsmanlike)...unsportsmanlike to me is name calling or physical confrontation...and I have seen a game or two and coached a couple...no reason to quit posting and offering your opinions on topics or your team...I enjoy reading everyones thoughts on softball and travel teams in Indiana...that is what this forum is about...and I am not hiding from anything...I just happened to pick da60 when I signed up for heybucket...but if it will make anyone any happier when I post my opinions/thoughts/questions, my name is Dave.

Justathought1...glad to hear your still posting...hope to see your Gators in action...if not I might catch a few of the players during the Marion County tournament since it is possible my daughter's high school team could draw DC.
