Glenn bass, how is it if 25% is true then why did the Xtreme kick the team out? Sounds like you have a lot of animosity towards the Garwood's. How long have you been a coach? Maybe you and the other coach need to keep that Jeremy in line. Sounds like he is a ticking time bomb. Sounds to me like you just haven't played for the right coach if you think that type of behavior is ok or your drinking to much of the wacky sauce.

Wow! For the sake of a game that is played by 10 year old girls that we all love and adore please stop. This is crazy.

As a coach of the Indiana Heat, I hope that no one posting in a derogatory (okay, that may not be spelled right) manner about another team or person on Hey Bucket is a representative of the Indiana Heat.

If you have an issue with a coach and his/her behavior and your daughter plays on an opposing team then please contact the NSA director, USFA director, ASA director, USSSA director and they will take the conduct into consideration and speak with the coach.
I do know that in NSA we have to sign a coaches conduct and Shirley Minnick is sticking to her guns and takes appropriate action, but she can only take action on what is reported to her. I doubt she cruises Hey Bucket so you are getting no traction by posting on here but you may make a few enemies which is probably not your intent.

 Well, you are gaining some traction because you run the risk of becoming the parent of a child that a good team may pass up on in the future because of the "parent situation". Coaches do talk amongst each other about these sorts of things and many of them read Hey Bucket and never post

Just ignore the negative posts!!!!!! Keep it positive! It is about your cute little daughter that just learned to catch a ball in her pink and black cute little glove you got them just a few years ago. Some of the girls on Indiana Heat are just now getting rid of those gloves thank goodness. :D

Anybody have any good 10U news?

Tim Jones

As I have been a follower on Hey Bucket and have never posted anything, I felt that now was the time to do so. I totally agree with Tim Jones. I think that sometimes parents forget that these are 9 & 10 year old girls and that what has been going on here is CRAZY!

I also think that it was very wrong and ruthless of fpsbdad, aka - Glen Bass, parent of the Indiana Xtreme(not my words but his), to call out another family like he did but was the first to agree with Tim Jones. I don't know the Garwoods, but know people who do, and they had nothing but positive things to say about them. Again people... this is 10u softball!! You, fpsbdad, by making that statement, just made it about yourself! You, as a coach, are putting the girls (your girl) in the middle of these childish acts. Like Tim said and I find it very true... it could come back to bite you in the you know where someday. HAHA

Good luck to ALL 10u softball teams!!!

OMG! This is why I kept my '00 out of travel...It stresses me out just getting on here and reading. Admitidly I am entertained ... It seems like 10U travel is the only way your child will get better? If Suzy isn't on the right team at 10U she will never make the Gold team at 16? And the only way she will ever get into college is through her talent at 10U? I dont even remember my 10U season....Was there 10U in 1984? I was driving home last night after coaching a rec team (My 10U catches) and I started thinking about it. What memories do I have from little League. I remember it but the details are foggy. Did it really shape my future? Did it impact my level of success at 20? 30? 37? I dont know. I do know that my prents were proud and asked if I had fun, and they enjoyed watching me play. Thats all that really mattered to me. I hope that ll of you here have a back up plan for when Suzy decides to play tennis in the spring in ninth grade, or heaven forbid, blows a knee out like I have seen 3 of my atheletes on my 14U team do this year. i hope that you all emphisize grades as much as OBP. No one will look at them if they dont have the grades................and the passion inside of themselves (not projected passion) .......This has been the clayface74 rant for the week Edited for clrity of last point...Ohio state, Kentucky, UNLV will look regardless....LOL

I have a lot more memories of the whiffle ball games in the back yard on summer afternoons than I do of organized ball. I remember usually having games in the mornings, then putting our league uniforms on and we'd start taking BP in the back yard about 1:00 for those 7:00 starts!

Good times, man, good times!
